Ahead of InfoComm 2026, D-Tools CEO G Paul Hess sat down for an interview with Commercial Integrator to discuss the company, its plans for the show and what integrators can expect to see.
Hess says D-Tools is having “an incredible year” and describes it as both busy and exciting. “The company’s seeing fantastic growth — a lot of interest in what we’re doing and what we’re providing,” he says. He also points to the team’s momentum. “The pace, the rhythm of the entire team — not just product development and product management but our entire team — has really picked up.” That progress, he adds, has him especially excited about D-Tools’ future.
What Will Integrators See from D-Tools at InfoComm 2026 This Month?
At Booth #C9012 during the show, integrators will see D-Tools Cloud and the latest iterations of System Integrator (SI). D-Tools Cloud, Hess says, is designed for growing integration businesses across commercial AV, security, low voltage, residential and managed services. Meanwhile, he describes System Integrator as “the enterprise platform for complex integration companies.”
The headline updates that D-Tools will be showcasing in its InfoComm booth include multi-user collaboration in projects, asset-level inventory management, smarter AI-assisted workflows, and deeper mobile and field tools. Hess says asset-level tracking for inventory “has been a top requested feature set in the D-Tools Cloud platform,” and he adds that the team has been very hard at work on it. Thus, he’s especially excited to show it off at InfoComm this month.
On AI, Hess says D-Tools is taking a pragmatic approach. “Our job is to show up where our customers want AI to show up,” he explains, “but not get in the way of the business that they’re trying to run.”
Hess points to AI capabilities aimed at helping create the scope of the project, enabling faster and more efficient product searches, assisting with quote creation and estimating tools, and helping with documentation. He also says D-Tools is using AI behind the scenes to make its own operations “faster, quicker, more nimble [and] more efficient.”
