As AV and IT continue to converge, integrators keep facing the same fundamental tension: moving high-quality video over networks without drowning in bandwidth and complexity. At the InfoComm 2026 show this month, Matrox Video plans to put a new answer — Maevex MGX — in front of the industry. You can find it at Booth #C7437.

In a pre-show conversation with Commercial Integrator, Matrox Video business development manager Ron Berty makes the case for Maevex MGX as much more than just another product launch.

“[Maevex MGX] is a new option that has not been available to pro AV until now,” Berty says.

The conversation centers on a problem that integrators know well: Light compression looks great, but it still eats nearly a gigabit per stream. Berty frames the breakthrough in plain numbers.

How are Matrox Video and Maevex MGX Shaking Things Up at InfoComm 2026?

“We deliver it at 1/20th the bandwidth of virtually all pro AV codecs at the 1Gb or the lightly compressed environment today,” Berty says. “We can deliver it as low as one frame of latency.”

That combination, he argues, reshapes network design itself.

“So, having that capacity [and still] staying on 1Gb switches, but with much less bandwidth for any single stream, allows for a much less complex, a much less costly and a much less [problematic] solution,” Berty says.

The booth demos will include control room environments, but they won’t stop there. Berty is especially eager to show how Maevex MGX fits unified communication and collaboration spaces, enhancing image quality between meeting rooms across platforms such as Teams, Zoom and Google Meet.

Maevex MGX won’t replace SDI in broadcast, and Berty is forthright about where it fits. But for the integrators and IT teams designing connected spaces, the demos at the company‘s booth, #C7437, will be well worth the walk.
