Opening this week to the public, SUMMIT One Vanderbilt will provide an immersive experience of New York’s famous skyline by deploying Samsung’s display technology. The goal of the experience is to elevate the concept of “observation deck”.
The multi-level entertainment space features Levitation, two all-glass skyboxes allowing visitors to stand 1,063 feet above Madison Avenue. It also features Ascent, a glass elevator to the highest viewpoint of the city. In addition, there is Apres, a lavish indoor café and outdoor bar so people can enjoy refreshments with the view.
Nestled on the first two floors of SUMMIT One Vanderbilt is AIR, a five-part, story-driven, multi-space immersive experience, designed by visionary artist Kenzo Digital. AIR offers visitors a multi-floor, multi-space immersion that challenges their notions of physical reality and the surrounding city, as well as their sense of self.
The transformative experience concludes with UNITY, an installation supported by a 750-square-foot IWJ Wall Series Samsung Display.
According to Samsung, the massive display measures more than 47 feet wide and 11 feet tall. It also has 33 million pixels working seamlessly with content that is customized for each visitor. Upon arrival, visitors can take a photo of themselves which later reappears in UNITY. When visitors enter the space, the portraits are transformed into a cloud in a mesmerizing, infinite cloudscape.
