It’s an end table. It’s a handsome snack table. No, it’s the FSR Huddle BLOX Charging Station, which it unveiled at InfoComm 2017 in June and is now shipping, according to the manufacturer.
FSR calls the Huddle BLOX a sturdy and convenient charging station that doubles as a table. In a press release announcing that the Huddle BLOX is shipping, it adds that it was designed as a smart option for libraries, coffee shops, lobbies, media rooms, or any location where powering up is desired.
Providing wireless and USB charging along with AC power allows connections with room to spare. These sturdy blocks are available in two sizes and an array of finishes including black, white and maple. For a quick meeting, a study group, or to just relax, Huddle BLOX has everyone connected!
“We are extremely excited that we can now tell customers that our all-new Huddle BLOX, which we rolled out at the recent InfoComm Show in Orlando is available immediately,” says Jan Sandri, FSR president. “It’s not only a smart-looking solution, but it also addresses a need in a number of applications for a reliable power source.”

We wrote that the Huddle BLOX signals a return to FSR’s roots — looking at infrastructure, through advancements in infrastructure-related products, under-the-table wire management and a new area for the company: charging stations for mobile devices.

“Our core business is anywhere AV and data power comes into a room,” says FSR director of global sales Chaz Porter. “We were the originators of the idea that wall boxes should go behind displays.”
FSR gets “about 98 percent” of its ideas for new product launches from consultant requests, says Porter “and we work based on that.”
FSR’s Wire Marshal manages cabling from racks, boxes and more then routes it to the floor or box where it needs to connect. It’s separated into high- and low-voltage sides and has what Porter calls “a living hinge” to increase its flexibility in terms of placement. One screw into the mounting panel is all you need, he says.
It features wireless chargers, two AC outlets and two USB ports and could be huge in student unions, reception areas and more, he says. It comes in two sizes depending on your needs.
“We’re getting pulled into the charging business,” says Porter. “People want a place to charge their devices.”
