Workplace technology maker Crestron says its line of DM NVX AV-over-IP solutions are now certified by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) and the U.S. government’s Common Criteria, certifying that the products meet cybersecurity standards.

The designations open up new avenues for the DM NVX products in U.S. government agencies, including federal civilian agencies and those supporting the Department of Defense, in addition to other government entities around the world, the Rockleigh, N.J.-based company says in a press release.

The NIAP is a U.S. government initiative designed to promote the use of evaluated information systems products and champion the development and use of international standards for IT security, according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which created the NIAP along with the National Security Agency.

Meanwhile, Crestron’s DM NVX solutions have been on the DoD’s list of approved products since 2019, but there has been a need to certify the security of the products according to the NIAP’s Common Criteria, which oversees evaluates commercial IT products for use in national security systems.

With the certification, the products are found to conform the collaborative Protection profile for Network Devices (cPPND), and the certifications are recognized by 31 other countries, so multinational companies can deploy the DM NVX line as a global standard.

“The stringent testing required to achieve NIAP certification enables DM NVX to be a preferred solution for some of the most secure deployments in the DoD, the NSA, and other high security and mission-critical government environments. This pedigree also provides peace-of-mind to IT and InfoSec professionals everywhere,” says Andrew Ludke, Crestron’s senior director of product management for AV solutions.

In addition, new models of the DM NVX line are newly certified by the Joint Interoperability Test Command, a test agency that ensures products meet certain standards for assurance, interoperability and cybersecurity.
