LED manufacturer VOD Visual has launched The Edge, an LED video wall solution designed to be a direct replacement for LCD.
The 55” panels are the largest single diecast cabinets available with each incorporating eight modules of LED. This is approximately four times that of a conventional cabinet, resulting in four times less components to reduce installation time and the number of seams for a smooth finish.
The Edge is currently available in 0.9mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 1.8mm and 2.5mm pixel pitches and a unique design allows them to be updated with the latest pixel pitches as they become available.
This design allows the display to evolve as pixel pitches continue to reduce, enabling technologies to be swapped out without changes to infrastructure, so a 2.5mm pixel pitch display can become a 1.2mm by simply replacing the panels.
Front serviceability means this entire process can be done quickly and simply. The panels fit together without any bezel disruption to allow for the creation of video walls in creative shapes and sizes, as well as in standard formations. The sleek, lightweight displays weigh just 15kg and have a depth of 58mm.
The slim form factor panels have a dedicated mounting kit that allows them to be directly wall mounted for an easy and seamless integration into any environment, reducing additional costs and saving time during installation. The panels can be VESA mounted if desired.
The Edge range has been designed with superior image quality in mind with a high dynamic range, high brightness and a vivid colour gamut for lifelike colour reproduction.
A proprietary ultra-low reflection black surface technology ensures intense black levels for the ultimate contrast across both areas of high and low brightness.
The ultra-high bright displays are three times brighter than LCD for a crisp, clear viewing without fading or distortion in any ambient light.
The Edge is one of the most sustainable and energy efficient LED displays available. The new design keeps the heat away from the individual LEDs and dissipates through heat management.
Power consumption using this design is reduced by up to 75% and the product lifetime exceeds 100,000 hours, with uniformity across all modules.
