Planar made a strong showing at InfoComm 2026 last month, drawing steady crowds to a booth built around a dramatic centerpiece that spiraled down from above. In an interview with Commercial Integrator executive editor Amala Reddie, Planar’s Robert Detwiler, senior director of product management, walked CI through the company‘s booth experience and its newest products.

“It actually might have been one of the better InfoComms we’ve done in my history at Planar,” Detwiler says of the June show and integrators’ enthusiastic reaction. Numerous industry suppliers and distributors shared that enthusiasm, as evidenced in Commercial Integrator’s extensive post-show reporting.

Planar at InfoComm 2026: Wide-Aspect LCD Displays

Planar upgraded its 21by9 Series LCD platform ahead of the show, headlined by a new 105-inch display. Plus, there are two additional sizes (94 inches and 81 inches) for more flexibility. The panel emphasizes picture quality, with HDR support and more than 2,500 local dimming zones. Whether it’s for a conference room, a boardroom or digital signage applications, Detwiler says Planar built the series to outperform much of what’s on the market.

Mantis Rethinks Rental and Staging

The Mantis Series targets professional rental and staging teams. Planar spent time with those customers to streamline the design, adding robust mechanisms made to withstand repeated setups. Plus, the series has color-matched touch points that make it clear what crews need to adjust. Efficiencies carry through to warehouse inspection, keeping fast-moving jobs on schedule.

Planar at InfoComm 2026: Visually Eliminating Dead Pixels

The Cobra Series introduces proprietary LED technologies that Planar calls EverPixel and TruMicro. By shrinking sub-pixels to 20 microns, Planar created space for redundant red, green and blue diodes within each pixel package. If one diode goes out, another compensates, and the image’s integrity is maintained.
