What You Need to Know
- Vanco introduced a new line of Dante Audio Adapters for networked audio systems.
- The adapters are designed to connect legacy gear and common audio sources to Dante workflows.
- Supported formats include analog, XLR, Bluetooth, ARC and USB-C.
- Products can be used in new installs, retrofits and mid-cycle system upgrades.
What are Vanco Dante Audio Adapters?
Vanco Dante Audio Adapters are compact devices that add Dante connectivity to audio sources and sinks. Vanco announced the new line as a way for integrators to bring legacy equipment and common source types into Dante-enabled systems without replacing entire setups.
According to the company, each adapter supports a single signal format. The approach is intended to provide a native connection for the source while maintaining a Dante-based workflow for routing and distribution.
Why did Vanco introduce the new adapter line?
Vanco introduced the adapters to help integrators expand system design options and support audio-over-IP upgrades more cost-effectively. The company says the products are meant to address growing demand for Dante-based workflows in both new and retrofit projects.
“We built these adapters because Dante demand keeps showing up in real projects, and customers want a straightforward way to tie legacy and new components together,” says Brandon White, director of product development at Vanco. “It’s a small add-on that creates a big path forward for integrators.”
How do the adapters help modernize systems without rip-and-replace?
The adapters help modernize systems by allowing existing audio gear to connect to a Dante backbone without a full overhaul. Vanco says the products support mid-cycle system upgrades and let applications transition to audio-over-IP while keeping non-Dante components in place.
The company says the adapters can turn traditional audio sources and sinks into Dante-capable endpoints. That can broaden networked audio options while limiting the need to remove and replace working equipment.
What signal formats do the adapters support?
The adapter lineup supports several common signal formats used in AV systems. Vanco lists analog in and out, XLR male and female, Bluetooth input, ARC in and out and USB-C in and out in a 2×2 configuration.
The company says each model is built around one signal type. That format-specific approach is intended to simplify integration for installers working with mixed equipment environments.
Where might the adapters be used?
The adapters may be used in a range of venues and project types where integrators are adding or extending Dante networks. These include office buildings, hospitality venues, campuses, event venues and houses of worship.
The products can be used for new system deployments and retrofit work. As Dante workflows expand beyond large-scale audio environments, Vanco says the adapters can help integrators connect more devices to networked systems across a wider range of applications.
What does this launch mean for integrators?
The launch gives integrators another option for connecting legacy and modern audio components within the same networked environment. The adapters are intended to simplify upgrades, preserve existing equipment and expand design flexibility in Dante-based systems.
