June was surely a busy month for businesses in the AV world: most of them were spotted all at once in Orlando for InfoComm 2017, hustling their wares and focusing on building client relationships. When they weren’t rubbing elbows with each other, many of these companies also made advances in the human resources department over the past four weeks.
One of them, Control Concepts, hired 22-year AV veteran Terry Worrell in a leading engineer role. Worrell will manage all audio DSP programs and projects at the SCR power controller company.

Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SDVoE), the organization seeking to standardize AV-over-IP, gained a new member just in time for InfoComm 2017. Digital multimedia fiber specialists Broadata merged their mission with the SDVoE, a move the company’s VP of sales Jim Branda says was a no-brainer.
At BCI, our particular expertise is in designing and delivering AV products for mission-critical applications across several markets including medical, command & control and broadcast. The SDVoE platform provides the uncompromising video quality and zero latency that will let our customers move to cost-effective AV-over-IP architectures. We are proud to be an adopter.
Meanwhile, Kramer Electronics continued its expansion Westward in the United States with a new regional sales team.
Perhaps the product of past trade show midnight meet-and-greets: labor resource management and AV specialist Herman just partnered with Community Professional Loudspeakers.
“We are very excited to partner with Community,” said Jeffrey Wolf, Executive VP at Herman. “Their products make them a leader in high-performance loudspeakers, and they provide us with a significant addition to our product offering. The Community partnership is a strategic one that enables us to further deliver value and benefit to our integrator partners.”
