PPDS Donates Five Professional Displays to Salvation Army

PPDS donated five of its Philips professional displays to the international charitable organization, the Salvation Army. With this, the company will bring advanced educational resources and opportunities to children and adults in less affluent areas in the Netherlands.

The donation stemmed from PPDS ‘quality education for everyone’ strategy. The company donated and installed the five interactive Philips professional displays inside the Salvation Army’s local community center ‘Living Rooms’. These are located in and around the Dutch towns of Utrecht (Nieuwegein, Kanaleneiland, Zuilen, Overvecht) and Ridderkerk. The displays ranged from 75-inch D-Line digital displace to 75-inch Philips T-Line.

With the donated Philips professional displays, the organization replaced its static paper flipcharts, blackboards and whiteboards with new 4K, interactive and highly collaborative displays. This helped create innovative, inspiring and highly engaging teaching and learning capabilities.

These people devote their lives to helping others and at we wanted to support them.”

Per a statement, the Philips T-Line displays will help to support local school children (individually and in groups) with their homework and their studies. It will also provide additional learning and collaborative opportunities that may not be available at home.

Additionally, the displays are used to help teach new everyday skills to adults, including senior citizens. These include using a computer, a smartphone, email, social media and messenger services such as Facebook or WhatsApp. This in turn, will improve their communication opportunities in a comfortable environment.

Eline Kraaijveld, Coördinator at Bij Bosshardt Ridderkerk, Leger des Heils, remarks, “For me as a location coordinator this partnership with PPDS means having a beautiful touch display in the middle of the community center that gives us so many new possibilities…We can now organize Dutch classes with a digital support, display music, videos and share moments that have impact on people’s lives.”
