Video walls are showing up everywhere these days and many organizations have multiple video walls deployed across their locations or campuses. During Digital Signage Expo (DSE 2018) Userful video wall cloud management was introduced to provide integrators and technology managers with a solution for managing many video walls from a single point in the cloud.
The growth of the video wall category has created opportunities for AV integrators. Nearly a third of integrators surveyed in CI’s recent State of Digital Signage and Video Walls study, expect that part of their business to grow by double-digits in 2018.
The opportunity brings with it a challenge, since many of the customers purchasing video walls need multiple, sometimes hundreds, even thousands, of video walls across sprawling organizations. That creates a management challenge.
That’s one reason that Userful’s new cloud management for video walls solution is “the thing we’re most excited about” from DSE 2018, according to CTO Timothy Griffin.
“This allows you to see all your video walls – this could be across hundreds or thousands of locations,” he said. “You can remotely log in and control absolutely everything on that video wall from calibration to switching.
“You can also schedule switching of the video wall. When I say switching I don’t mean must switching the content; I mean switching the entire configuration of the video wall or of all your displays.”
The Userful cloud management for video walls solution is a direct reflection of the growth of the market, according to Griffin.

“The exciting thing for us for the cloud solution is it’s also a great way to get the message out there that video walls are just growing at an astronomical pace and these multi-location organizations that have 50 or even 5,000 locations, they can start deploying video walls into all those locations and centrally manage them and control them.”
