Emerging Trends: Is AV finally IT?

Right away, this caught our attention since it describes a question so many AV professionals have about their line of work. For years, we’ve been told that AV is merging into IT, and that is alleged to have happened with the proliferation of AV-over-IP.

However, what comes next? The session features Miguel Ramlatchan, assistant vice president for academic technology services at Old Dominion University’s office of Distance Learning, and Max Kopsho, vice president of networked video sales at Audinate. The two will discuss emerging technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality and the “full integration of both real and virtual worlds” and how that translates to the integrated audiovisual experience.
