Sennheiser Digital 6000, Meet Yamaha Consoles: Companies Announce Interoperability

Published: July 9, 2018

In addition to announcing new products like its TeamConnect2 conferencing system, German audio company Sennheiser says their Digital 6000 now integrates with Yamaha consoles.

Sennheiser says that it and Yamaha Pro Audio will launch updated firmware to support the integration of the Digital 6000 wireless microphone system with Yamaha CL and QL series consoles.

“Yamaha has continued to offer new and convenient solutions through close collaboration with various partners,” says Yoshi Tsugawa, general manager, Yamaha Pro Audio division.

“This announcement takes that collaboration to an even higher level. Digital mixing consoles are expected to take on a much larger role than simply mixing in today’s sound systems, and the full breadth of the functionality required cannot be handled by one company alone.

“All-encompassing solutions would not be possible without the support and cooperation of third parties. Feedback from our valued customers is also a vital ingredient. Driven by the needs of our customers, deeper collaboration with our third-party partners will continue to produce world-class solutions into the future.”

Sennheiser points out that once the firmware updates become available, its EM 6000 and EM 6000DANTE wireless receivers will support monitoring directly from the Yamaha consoles. [related]

“Being able to monitor the EM 6000 parameters directly form a mixing console is something our customers have been asking for,” notes Tom Vollmers, senior product manager, Sennheiser Professional Audio.

“We are delighted that both Yamaha and Soundcraft are implementing this integration in selected consoles in their ranges, and we are currently working with other manufacturers to extend this ability to their consoles.”

The CL and QL series of mixing consoles can be used for broadcast and live sound applications.

The Sennheiser Digital 6000 series includes a choice of the L 6000, LM 6060 and LM 6061 charging modules, as well as the SK 6000 and SKM 6000 transmitters, and the EM 6000 two-channel receiver.
