AMX Integrates Powerful Processors into Enova DGX Digital Media Switchers

AMX builds next-generation NX Series central control processor into Enova DGX Digital Media Switchers.

Improving an already successful product line can be a tough task, but AMX has just announced new upgrades to its Enova DGX Digital Media Switchers that improves the performance of its media switchers.

The Skinny: The Texas-based company AMX, which was recently acquired by Harman, says the upgrade involves the inclusion of its next generation NetLinx NX Series of central control processor in the line of digital media switchers.

The Specs: AMX says the Enova DGX products now have “ultra fast processing power” to provide dealers with more security and installation options with no change in pricing.

The line of switchers offers dealers a choice the DGX 8, 16, 32 and 64 products, and addition to their newly added processing capabilities (1,600 MIP processor), the products also support 802.1x security, and IPv6 IP addressing.

AMX points out that it has also designed an upgrade path for existing customers.

“Migrating to the new DGX models is simple and painless as they are fully compatible with code developed for the previous AMX NI Series control processors,” says the company. “Should [customers] wish, existing DGX customers will have the opportunity to upgrade their current DGX switchers with NI Series controllers to the new processor by purchasing a CPU Replacement Kit. Concurrent with this upgrade, AMX is implementing a simplified model numbering scheme for the DGX family to streamline the ordering process.”

Solutions: AMX says the Enova DGX Series of Digital Media Switchers can install into residential and commercial A/V systems.
