Who Is WyreStorm’s New Distributor in Canada?

Techni+Contact Canada Ltd. is WyreStorm Technologies’ new distributor in Canada. The appointment gives the professional AV manufacturer a local channel partner with established sales and technical teams in the Canadian market.

Headquartered in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Techni+Contact serves integrators, resellers and consultants across the country. It’s been operating in the Canadian professional AV market since 1979.

What Does Techni+Contact Bring to the Partnership?

Techni+Contact brings more than 40 years of experience in Canadian AV and unified communications, along with a range of services for integrators. Those services include:

  • Pre- and post-sales technical support
  • Design assistance
  • Education and training
  • Logistics and ongoing services

The company has built its business around long-term relationships with integrators, resellers, consultants and technology partners. Its stated mission is to simplify communication and human interaction while becoming a go-to service resource for professional AV and UC in Canada.

Which WyreStorm Products Will Techni+Contact Carry?

Techni+Contact will distribute WyreStorm’s commercial AV portfolio, which covers AV-over-IP, signal distribution, switching, collaboration, control and audio. Specific product lines include:

  • NetworkHD AV-over-IP systems
  • Matrix and signal management products
  • Collaboration tools
  • Audio products
  • Synergy, WyreStorm’s control platform

For Techni+Contact, the addition expands the technologies it can offer customers. It also supports the distributor’s focus on delivering complete AV and UC systems backed by technical services.

Why Is WyreStorm Expanding Its Canadian Presence?

WyreStorm is expanding in Canada as part of a broader push to build regional partnerships throughout the Americas. The company’s goal is to put products, technical expertise and ongoing support closer to the integrators who use them.

Ken Vanier, vice president of sales and operations for the Americas at WyreStorm, leads that effort. His role covers strategy, partner engagement and market development across the region, with an emphasis on customer experience and closer relationships with integrators and channel partners.

“Canada is an important market for WyreStorm, and this partnership is about making sure our customers have the expertise and support they need locally,” Vanier says.

Vanier points to Techni+Contact’s track record as the deciding factor. “Techni+Contact brings decades of experience, strong technical knowledge and established relationships across the Canadian AV community,” he says. “We see this as an important step in strengthening our presence in Canada and supporting the integrators who specify and deploy WyreStorm solutions every day.”

How Does Techni+Contact View the Addition of WyreStorm?

Techni+Contact sees WyreStorm’s portfolio as a way to give its partners more design options across commercial applications. Julie Legault, president of Techni+Contact, also cites a fit between the two companies’ approaches to technology and service.

“We’re excited to welcome WyreStorm to the Techni+Contact portfolio,” Legault says. “WyreStorm’s broad professional AV offering gives our partners additional flexibility when designing systems across a wide range of commercial applications.”

Legault adds that alignment on service matters as much as product range. “Just as importantly, there is a strong alignment between WyreStorm’s focus on practical, integrator-friendly technology and our own commitment to technical expertise, service and long-term customer relationships,” she says.

What Does the Appointment Mean for Canadian Integrators?

Canadian integrators now have a domestic source for WyreStorm products, training and technical support. That can shorten the path from specification to deployment, since design questions and post-sale issues go to a local team rather than an out-of-country contact.

The two companies plan to focus on corporate, education, government, retail and cultural projects. Integrators working in those markets can expect more access to product knowledge and training on WyreStorm systems, including NetworkHD and Synergy.

For firms already specifying WyreStorm, the change adds a local support layer. For firms that haven’t used the brand, Techni+Contact’s existing relationships give them a familiar distributor through which to evaluate it.
