Eliminating the need to cobble together network devices, the San Jose, Calif.-based manufacturer NETGEAR has introduced its turnkey Insight system.

The newly announced NETGEAR Insight system is engineered to provide an easy way to continuously monitor and manage clients’ networks, including their wireless access points (WAPs), switches and storage devices through the system’s built-in interoperability and self discovery.

The West Coast company also offers its companion NETGEAR Insight app. Available from the Apple iTunes App Store and Google Play to support iOS and Android devices, the free app provides instant registration of NETGEAR products, and it delivers a unified, single-pane-of-glass interface to manage the system.

“At NETGEAR, we have designed our products with the small business owner in mind. With limited budgets and few resources at their disposal, small businesses need intuitive IT solutions,” says Richard Jonker, vice president of NETGEAR for Business.

“The ideal scenario is easy-to-use networking that can can be managed on the go that consistently works to provide the 24/7 connectivity, which is crucial to keeping a business afloat and the business owner’s mind at ease.”

NETGEAR Insight Offers Network Flexibility

Enabling system design flexibility to allow integrators to build networks to fit a variety of business needs regardless of size, NETGEAR Insight products provide a choice of switches, WAPs and storage solutions.

As part of the line’s integrated, cloud-manageable network, switches incorporate eight copper Ethernet ports, along with two SFP fiber ports.

The company’s line of Insight switches include the GC110 fanless switch, the GC110P, which features eight PoE ports with a total of 62 watts of power. The GC510P also offers a total of eight PoE ports, but it provides more power through a total of 134 watts. NETGEAR also points out the GC510P is rack mountable.

NETGEAR’s top-of-line Insight switch is the rack mountable GC510PP. This product delivers a total of 195 watts via its eight ports, and it’s compatible with PoE+.

Some of the features the switches offer include VLAN (auto VoIP, auto video) and LLDP support, Port trunking, QoS and priority queuing, port-based rate limiting and loop prevention.

Insight’s choice of WAPs offer the choice of the WAC505 and WAC510 products.

The WAC505 Insight Managed Smart Cloud Wireless Access Point is designed for wide coverage of small office environments through its inclusion of WAVE2 AC1200 technologies. The WAC505 works with power supplies or PoE, and ships with a mounting bracket for wall or ceiling placement.

NETGEAR’s WAC510Insight Managed Smart Cloud Wireless Access Point offers the same features as the WAC505 and it adds router options.

Rounding out the NETGEAR Insight line of products is the family’s network storage solutions.

“Unlike enterprise network management solutions where the SMB is an afterthought, Insight is laser focused on the SMB space and their growing need for performance, scalability and mobility” notes Jonker.

The Insight line’s storage choices include the ReadyNAS 2000, ReadyNAS 3000, ReadyNAS 4000 rackmount series, and the ReadyNAS 420, ReadyNAS 520 and ReadyNAS 620 desktop products.

NETGEAR adds that fully assembled Insight network systems provide SMB users with an app-based management experience to enable streamlined configuration, management and system monitoring without a need for network training.
