Logic Integration: The Sportsbook Bar and Grill

Published: 2022-06-13

The greater Denver area Sportsbook Bar and Grill offers customers a great place for watching sports, in addition to cold drinks, delicious food and great service. After establishing two Sportsbook locations in Greenwood Village and Washington Park, owners Judson Dymond and Jeremy Malone set out to open a third location in Highlands Ranch, Colo., and with it, create a sports viewing experience like no other. The owners partnered with Colorado-based Logic Integration to assist with technology plans for their third location.

They wanted to bring a similar vibe from their two previous locations but on a much grander scale and easier control of the AV system. Their focus was to provide the very best experience where their customers can watch football, soccer, basketball, rugby, UFC, baseball, or whichever sport they love, while enjoying great food and drinks with friends and family.

The owners previously used control and integrated systems before but were not very intuitive for the staff to use daily. The owners obtained a building that required a full interior remodel and Logic Integration developed an audiovisual design that deliver a similar ambiance to their other locations except on a much grander scale.

“We wanted it to have a wow factor,” Dymond says. “The idea was for people to walk in and say, ‘Wow! You can’t find this anywhere else,’ and no matter where they are in the place, they could still watch the game they want to watch.”

Designing for a “Wow’ Factor

Logic Integration worked closely with the owners to understand their specific goals including what they liked and didn’t like about their existing systems, then designed a solution that would provide both easier AV control and optimum viewability from anywhere in the space.

Although the owners did not originally plan to have a videowall in their new location, that changed after Logic Integration took them to Planar’s Denver Showroom. “The visit helped us confirm what we wanted,” Dymond said. “We were able to see LED videowalls in action and really understand the difference between various pixel pitches.”

The Technology Used

Logic Integration provided a custom Crestron control system to allow for the source selection of the 25 4K inputs to the 60 4K receivers as well as the ability to recall 10 presets on the 24’ x 6.5’ Planar videowall. The 1.5-pixel pitch allows for clear up-close viewing of the 24-foot-wide display. AM and PM preset were incorporated onto the touchpanel as to create a one touch solution for simple execution so that the technology was not the primary focus of SportsBook employees as they prepared for the customers to arrive each day.

Logic Integrations also utilized a Binary Media Over IP system to distribute content to the displays throughout the space and a mix full-range pendant and surface mounted speakers in the main dining area as well as the outdoor, covered patio to ensure that the audio is clear throughout.

The Sportsbook Bar and Grill owners were extremely happy with the installation and the interface. Multiple audio and video zones are easy to use on the Custom Crestron control system, programmed by Logic Integration’s Luke Smith, and the videowall is a huge hit!
