Snap One announced it is now distributing hardware and software solutions from ProdataKey (PDK), marking its first entry into the access control space.
Per a statement, PDK is the first third-party brand crossing into Snap One from ADI and represents one of the early benefits of the two companies coming together to offer more products and more brands, as well as helping partners discover new revenue opportunities.
According to Clint Choate, senior director, Snap One, the PDK cloud-based access control systems can help address a variety of security challenges and offer strong integration capabilities with other brands under Snap One. “Physical access control has become increasingly important in today’s security landscape as organizations recognize its role in safeguarding physical and digital assets by controlling who can access specific areas,” he says.
“PDK access control solutions now empower Snap One partners to enhance security and peace of mind at commercial locations, high-end residences, gated communities and beyond,” adds Choate. “PDK’s access devices can help strengthen onsite security while making it simple for workers and users to access controlled spaces, which can be enhanced through integration with Snap One’s existing Digital Watchdog offerings.”

The cloud-based design also simplifies maintenance and upkeep by limiting onsite hardware and providing automatic updates and enhancements when released.
Per a statement, the PDK cloud-based access control system allows integrators and owners to scale the system based on their unique needs. With this, they can thus leverage a variety of products and solutions that include wired and wireless door controllers, keycard readers, fob readers and intuitive software to help manage user access and analyze room usage. The variety of credentialing options means each business owner or system administrator can thus choose to utilize Bluetooth, mobile push buttons, wearable credentials or high-security fobs and keycards to authenticate access permissions.
