What You Need to Know
- Spark 2027 runs Feb. 3-4 in Hall 8 at Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc, alongside Integrated Systems Europe (ISE).
- Registration is open, and early registrants get a 30% discount.
- The event offers more than 2,500 square meters of exhibition space, two content stages and immersive activations.
- The 2026 debut drew 2,086 visitors from 79 countries, and 39% held senior decision-making roles.
- One Spark or ISE badge covers the Spark, ISE and EdTech Congress exhibition spaces, and free shuttles connect the two Fira venues.
Content creators and the technologists who build their tools will share a bigger floor in Barcelona this February. Spark, the creative technology event launched as part of ISE, is moving to a new venue for its second year. The move adds exhibition space and gives the event room for more stage programming and hands-on activations.
For integrators, the shift matters because the clients behind live shows, broadcast studios and cultural venues are the same people who buy projection, LED, lighting and video systems.
What Is Spark 2027 and Where Is It Taking Place?
Spark 2027 is a two-day creative technology event taking place Feb. 3-4 in Hall 8 at Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue. It brings together creative talent, technology developers and immersive experiences focused on content production in the creative industries.
The event will feature more than 2,500 square meters of exhibition space, two content stages and immersive activations. It runs alongside ISE, which takes place at Fira Gran Via.
How Did Spark Perform in Its First Year?
Spark’s 2026 debut drew 2,086 visitors from 79 countries and 1,400 companies. Thirty-nine percent of those attendees held senior decision-making roles.
That share is the more telling number. Nearly four in 10 visitors had the authority to approve projects or purchases, so the room isn’t only made up of people browsing for ideas.
Why Is Spark Moving to Fira Montjuïc?
Spark is moving to Hall 8 at Fira Montjuïc to make room for its growing international community. Organizers point to first-year attendance as proof that creative and technical professionals want to meet in the same place.
Mike Blackman, managing director of Integrated Systems Events, which organizes Spark, says the second year is about building on that demand.
“Spark is all about the magic that happens when you bring people with big creative ambitions together with the technology that can make those ideas possible,” says Blackman. “For some time we’ve known that content creators and technologists want to be in the same room and year one proved that for us. Year two is about giving them more room to build together, and with ISE running alongside, visitors can take what they discover at Spark straight to the people and expertise that can help make it real.”
What Is “The Art of And”?
“The Art of And” is Spark 2027’s theme, and it examines how creative disciplines, technologies and production approaches intersect to shape new forms of content and audience experiences. The theme carries through both stages and the immersive activations on the show floor.
What Content Will Spark’s Two Stages Offer?
Spark’s program runs across two stages: the paid Spark Arena and the free Spark Forum. Each stage takes a different approach to the topics shaping modern content production.
- Spark Arena (paid): The main stage hosts big-picture talks and longer conversations about the forces changing creativity, content and technology. Speakers will cover what’s changing, what’s possible and what comes next.
- Spark Forum (free): This stage focuses on practical insight and how creative disciplines borrow ideas, tools and talent from one another.
Who Is Speaking at Spark 2027?
Spark 2027 has confirmed six speakers so far, drawing from live entertainment, broadcast, lighting design and public culture:
- Simon Lachance, technical director at Cirque du Soleil
- Tim Routledge, BAFTA Award-winning lighting designer
- Megan Wastell, expert adviser for UK City of Culture 2029 at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport
- Giuseppe Celestino, creative partner at Runway and master lecturer at LABASAD
- Manuel Gómez Zotano, director of systems and innovation at RTVE
- Anna Diaz Ortuño, co-founder and creative director of Hamill Industries
The lineup leans toward the people who commission and run large-scale technical productions. That gives integrators a direct look at how client-side decision-makers think about their projects.
What Immersive Experiences Will Be on the Show Floor?
Three main immersive activations will run on the Spark floor: Lab of Tomorrow, Sol Garden and the Immersive Pavilion. Each one puts creative concepts and working technology side by side.
Lab of Tomorrow returns for a second year with a larger presence. The entertainment innovation arm of Tomorrowland connects people from different fields and gives them chances to test solutions at major industry events. It helps developers build ideas, form partnerships and scale their products.
Sol Garden is an immersive art experience that uses projection, sound and visual storytelling to explore unseen forces in the natural world. Artdott serves as the immersive art and cultural experiences partner, and REUKO is the featured artist and creative lead. Barco, Ross Video and Intorno Labs supply the technology.
For integrators who design projection and video systems, Sol Garden offers a working example of how those components hold up in an artistic installation.
The Immersive Pavilion will offer hands-on XR discovery, education and creative experimentation. IMMENSIVA and ESPRONCEDA will present XR world premieres that show how immersive technology is expanding storytelling.
Where Can Attendees Meet and Work During the Event?
Attendees can meet and work in the Creator’s Lounge, which provides a dedicated space for exchanging ideas, collaborating and building new relationships. Local food trucks and working areas across the show floor give visitors places to meet, recharge and plan the rest of their day.
Organizers plan to announce more immersive experiences, collaborations and program highlights in the coming weeks.
How Does a Spark Badge Connect to ISE?
A Spark or ISE badge grants access to the Spark, ISE and EdTech Congress exhibition spaces, plus free-to-attend content. Free shuttle buses will run between Fira Montjuïc and Fira Gran Via throughout each day of Spark.
That setup removes the need to choose between shows. You can see a creative concept at Spark, then cross to ISE the same day to talk with the manufacturers whose gear would build it.
How Do You Register for Spark 2027?
Registration for Spark 2027 is open now through the official Spark website. Early registrants get a 30% discount.
Spark Arena sessions require paid access, while Spark Forum content is free to attend. If you plan to attend both Spark and ISE, one badge covers the exhibition floors at both venues.
