AV and security value-added distributor ADI has sponsored Commercial Integrator’s 40 Influencers Under 40 list for years, and Cynthia Menna, VP and GM of AV for ADI, says that support reflects the company’s deep, ongoing commitment to nurturing and developing talent across the integration channel.

Cynthia Menna of ADI: ‘I Love 40 Under 40’

“I love 40 Under 40 because it really spotlights those professionals who are bringing in new perspectives, embracing our technology, excited about what we’re doing inside of our living [and] working spaces, and can really help us continue to drive the industry forward,” Menna enthuses.

That commitment starts internally at ADI, according to Menna, who says the company is intentional about giving young professionals room to grow.

“When I think about ADI, we want to help young professionals see this industry as a place that they can grow and develop a meaningful career,” Menna notes.

Menna has also had a direct hand in shaping that growth herself, helping to build out ADI’s commercial AV business and, later, bringing the residential AV side into the fold through acquisitions.

“From an ADI perspective, I was really excited to help ADI evolve in the industry,” Menna says.

How Can Companies Hang onto Skilled Talent?

Asked what separates companies that hold onto skilled talent from those that don’t, Menna returns to a familiar refrain.

“At the end of the day, as cliche as it is, people make the difference, right?” Menna says. That means creating an environment of support, nurturing, continuous learning and abundant opportunities to grow.
