Biamp had a lot of announcements for the integration community during Integrated Systems Europe 2014, “but we’re not taking InfoComm 2014 off,” quipped audio products manager Justin O’Connor.

Biamp is unveiling Tesira 2.1, the latest version of its Audio Video Bridging (AVB) friendly Tesira family of digital signal processor-based media systems, boasting its new EX-AEC expander and EEC-4 Modular Card.

Meanwhile, Biamp announces “a very significant partnership” with Lab.gruppen, which O’Connor says is launching new D Series amps branded with Biamp’s logo.

Biamp sees the new Lab.gruppen amps as an extension to its systems and “part of the Tesira network,” O’Connor says.

“This is really a very deeply embedded partnership,” he adds. “We’ve been working on this for quite a while, not just a couple of months.”

From Biamp’s press release on Tesira 2.1:

Biamp Systems Tesira® 2.1
As the latest version of Biamp Systems’ industry-leading Tesira® family of digital signal processor (DSP)-based media systems, Tesira 2.1 introduces the new EX-AEC expander and EEC-4 Modular Card. These new devices bring Biamp’s patented SonaTM AEC technology directly to the endpoints of a Tesira networked audio system, ensuring there is a Biamp® solution for every project and Biamp quality for every budget. Previously, AEC cards were added only to a SERVER or SERVER I/O, but now the AEC technology is embedded within the new EX-AEC hardware endpoint. If the SERVER or SERVER I/O expansion slots are full, the addition of an endpoint with AEC provides a simpler and more efficient means of expanding and adding AEC. The EX-AEC Expander and the EEC-4 Modular Card will ship in late June.
