How These Well-Known AV Companies Got Their Names

“Nu” is a variation on “new”. “Reve” means dream in French, and “Va” means go in French. All of these elements carry a positive connotation. If we put all of the components together, we could think about “Nureva” as meaning “bringing new things to life.”

We like a lot of the names that we see emerging in the industry. The recent change of name of the combined Polycom and Plantronics to “Poly” is a great change. It’s nice and short with great recognition because of Polycom’s industry stature. For us, this falls into the category of short and sweet which we also think translates to memorable.
