The heavy hitters in the audio world spent this week in Las Vegas, enjoying the early-spring heat of Sin City while also getting the inside scoop on some of the newest products in and related to their world at NAB 2017, the annual showcase of the National Association of Broadcasters.

We can’t necessarily tell you which of these new products or which company will walk away from NAB 2017 as the big winners, but we’re highlighting a few of the products we think will be key components in some future projects at some point soon– once they’re shipped, of course.

We’re particularly impressed with the way Haivision plays well with others, launching a couple of cool new products we expect will be as impressive to you as they were to us. Haivision gave us a look at the future of virtual reality in a partnership with Intel and Nokia at NAB 2017, where the companies joined forces to demonstrate dual-streaming (stereoscopic) virtual reality content in 4K, or 4K Stereoscopic VR.

VITEC and Leyard/Planar were among many companies to introduce products that are new additions to existing lines at NAB 2017.

And, while most NAB booths were packed with new products, ZeeVee was among those with a slightly different purpose in mind at NAB 2017. The company focused much of its time at the show on free video distribution audit/reviews for those who visited their NAB booth. The network audits were designed “to evaluate a network infrastructure’s compliance to best practices and policies and readiness to support high-quality video distribution applications” and ended with one visitor taking home prizes worth more than $3,000.

We know there were lots of other products on the NAB show floor, but here are the ones that impressed us the most. If we missed anything you think we should have seen, let us know and we’ll try to highlight it in a different way in the future.
