Royer Labs, known for its ribbon microphones used in recording, broadcast, live sound, and film production, has been acquired by Sounds Great Holdings, LLC. The move signals a new chapter for the company, focusing on global expansion and innovation while maintaining its legacy of sound quality and craftsmanship.
Founded in 1998, Royer Labs revolutionized the ribbon microphone industry with its R-121 model and groundbreaking designs, earning a Technical Grammy Award for its contributions to modern recording.
The company will continue operations from its Burbank, Calif. headquarters, with plans to enhance global sales, invest in product development, and strengthen ties within the professional audio community.
