The AV industry spent years debating whether AV signals belong on the network. As AV-over-IP (AVoIP) has become mainstream, AVPro is focused on what comes next: designing systems where video, audio and control operate together across enterprise infrastructure. The company‘s answer isn’t a single product. It’s an increasingly unified AV platform strategy built for the way modern IT environments are deployed, managed and supported.
Three Pillars, One Ecosystem
Over the past several years, AVPro has deliberately expanded beyond video distribution. Its AVPro Edge and MXnet portfolios established a foundation for networked video, while AudioControl Pro added Dante-enabled DSPs and amplifiers that bring professional audio into the same IP conversation. The acquisition of RTI added control and automation, significantly broadening AVPro’s ability to deliver an end-to-end AV platform.
As product manager Andy Herron puts it in an exclusive interview with Commercial Integrator, “the abilities that we get with doing everything over IP are endless.”
For integrators, that means the opportunity to source video distribution, networked audio, control, monitoring and cloud capabilities from a single technology partner rather than assembling those core building blocks from multiple vendors.
Enterprise IT Fluency, Not Just Compatibility
Getting AV onto an enterprise network is one challenge. Keeping it secure, manageable and supportable throughout its lifecycle is another. AVPro designs MXnet devices to be discoverable, manageable and maintainable using protocols that IT teams already trust, including SNMP, LLDP, TLS encryption, AES video stream encryption and HTTPS web servers.
The goal, Herron explains to CI, is “making our boxes not just black boxes on the network.”
That distinction matters. Rather than treating AV as a collection of isolated endpoints, enterprise IT teams increasingly expect AV devices to fit within existing management practices, security policies and monitoring workflows.
AVPro on AVoIP: Interoperability by Design
Building an ecosystem doesn’t eliminate the need for flexibility. AVPro positions interoperability as a core design principle. MXnet USP (Universal Streaming Platform), built on H.265 and H.264, supports a range of standards-based third-party IP video sources without requiring additional adapters or license fees. For applications demanding the highest performance, AVPro also bridges its zero-compression MXnet 10G platform, built on SDVoE technology, with MXnet USP, allowing integrators to match transport technologies to the requirements of each space.
Taken together, AVPro’s investments in video, audio and control reflect a broader shift in commercial AV. As more systems converge onto enterprise IP infrastructure, integrators are increasingly designing around unified platforms that simplify deployment, monitoring, lifecycle management and long-term support rather than treating each subsystem independently.
