Key Things to Know:
- Electro-Voice introduced EVIDn, a nine-model family of IP-networked ceiling, surface mount and pendant loudspeakers for commercial installations.
- An integrated PoE+ (Class 4) module delivers power, audio and data over a single network cable, running on structured cabling already in most buildings.
- SwiftLock mounting supports one-person installation, and a browser-based web interface handles setup with no separate software to install.
- Each loudspeaker supports Dante and AES67 and is pre-tuned to match its passive EVID counterpart.
- 802.1X compliance builds network security in from the start for enterprise environments.
- Ceiling and surface mount models ship globally in early 2027, with pendant models to follow later in the year, backed by a three-year warranty.
What Is EVIDn?
EVIDn is a new family of networked PoE+ loudspeakers built for network-managed commercial audio installations. The nine-model family spans ceiling, surface mount and pendant formats, with ceiling models offered in standard and low-profile versions and a surface mount model rated IP65 for indoor and outdoor use. Each model shares a common internal PoE+ architecture, so integrators can pick the right format for a project while keeping installation consistent.
How Does EVIDn Deliver Power and Audio?
EVIDn moves power, audio and data over a single network cable through an integrated PoE+ (Class 4) module that delivers up to 30 watts to each loudspeaker. Because everything travels on one cable, the line deploys on the structured cabling already present in most commercial buildings, without a dedicated amplifier room. Standard PoE compatibility lets the system work with existing infrastructure. Each loudspeaker packs amplification, DSP, signal protection and network audio transport inside the enclosure, which simplifies the signal chain across a building.
How Does EVIDn Sound?
EVIDn is pre-tuned so each model matches its equivalent passive EVID loudspeaker, delivering professional-grade performance out of the box. Dynamic EQ holds that tonal balance as listening levels change, keeping sound consistent from background level to full output. Every loudspeaker is individually addressable, so integrators handle tuning and monitoring in software and adjust settings as a space changes. Support for Dante and AES67 keeps EVIDn compatible with the wider networked audio system.
Why Is EVIDn Built for IT Teams?
EVIDn runs on open, industry-standard networking rather than a closed ecosystem, which speaks directly to IT-oriented installers. Network security is built in from the start, with 802.1X compliance meeting the authentication requirements enterprise networks already enforce. The full line is configured, monitored and managed through a browser-based web interface that needs no separate software installation. That gives both AV and IT teams a straightforward path to set up and manage the system.
How Does EVIDn Handle Installation?
EVIDn uses the SwiftLock mounting system, which is designed for one-person installation with no second pair of hands needed. Included tile rails, mounting rings, magnetic grilles and support for fully terminated Ethernet cables further cut the time spent per loudspeaker. Across large or multi-building projects, those savings add up quickly. The approach reflects Electro-Voice’s long history with EVID, a portfolio with millions of units sold worldwide, and extends that installation experience to the network.
What’s the Heritage Behind EVIDn?
EVIDn draws on Electro-Voice’s decades of experience designing and installing commercial loudspeakers, with roots in the established EVID portfolio. That heritage covers acoustic performance and the practical details of installation, including mounting, brackets, weather protection, accessories and safety. Sibling brand Dynacord contributes decades of expertise in amplification, DSP, networked audio and system intelligence. Together, the two disciplines shape a family designed for the realities of commercial work.
When Will EVIDn Be Available?
EVIDn ceiling and surface mount models will be available globally beginning in early 2027, with pendant models to follow later in the year. The full line carries Electro-Voice’s standard three-year warranty. Integrators, specifiers and installers can get their first hands-on look at the world premiere during Integrate Expo 2026 in Sydney.
