In another case of an AV integrator joining forces with an IT counterpart, Unified AV Systems announced today the completion of the acquisition of Xzact Technologies, which will merge into the operations of its new parent company as of Jan. 1, 2018.
Unified AV Systems, a founding member of the Global AV Partnership, is a 100-percent employee-owned company with about 140 employees that offers design, engineering, installation and maintenance services for AV and video communications systems for corporate, education and government clients.
“This is a very deliberate and strategic move to provide our customers with a partner that can be their single source for all AV, IT and low voltage solutions,” said Unified AV president Barry Goldin in the announcement.
“We have a long history with, and immense respect for, the Xzact Technologies team and look forward to integrating our operations to the benefit of our customers and employees.”
The acquisition of Xzact Technologies enhances Unified AV’s presence across the southeastern U.S. in Columbia, S.C., Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh, N.C., and Knoxville, Tenn. Xzact has offices in Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C., and Columbia, S.C.[related]
The deal helps Unified AV achieve a goal from its strategic plan to expand beyond AV solutions for its customers, giving it the ability “to provide a full breadth of IT, AV, and other low voltage capabilities to enhance client operations,” according to the Unified AV press release.
Xzact Technologies provides design, engineering, installation and maintenance services for mission-critical infrastructure and network communications technologies to both private and public sector clients.
