InFocus Corporation has introduced its new IN3140 Series of projectors to address the education and meeting room categories. [related]
The small-footprint IN3140 Series weighs less than seven pounds and is easy for professional integrators to install.
InFocus points out the products produce 5,000 lumens in “normal mode” operation and 4,000 lumens in “eco mode.” The product line also produces native resolutions of 1080p.
The IN3140 Series includes a choice of these models: IN3148HD, WXGA IN3146, and the XGA IN3144.
“Schools and businesses often have to compromise between price, resolution, and connectivity options,” notes Dave Duncan, product manager, InFocus.

InFocus IN3140 Series ‘Dynamic Mode’ Courts a Minimized Cost of Ownership
Helping to minimize the cost of ownership with the IN3140 Series, InFocus also designed the products to deliver 6,000 hours of lamp life when using the “dynamic mode.” The dynamic mode adjusts the products’ brightness levels depending on the source content, location and other factors.
The products also incorporate an Eco Blanking option that is designed to extend the projectors’ lamp life by auto dimming the products when they aren’t in use.
Some of the other features the IN3140 Series offer includes:
- 1.5x optical zoom
- support for a range of aspect ratios such as 2:35:1, 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10
- HDMI 1.4 (one input with MHL compatibility)
- two VGA inputs
- composite, S-video, and 3.5mm and RCA left/right analog audio connections provide a choice of connectivity formats
- RS-232 options also enable integrators to control the projectors with third-party control systems
InFocus also emphasizes that through the IN3144’s 11,000:1 contrast ratio, and the IN3146 and IN3148’s 13,000:1 contrast ratios, the projectors are able to display dynamic images with bright whites and deep blacks on whiteboards or blackboards.
