Sony Professional MP-CD1 Mobile Projector Fits in Your Hand — But Produces 120-Inch Images

The 9.9 ounce Sony Professional MP-CD1 Mobile Projector is … a bit diminutive to look at. But, according to Sony, it can be used for business meetings, outdoor events, and residential activities.

The new Sony Professional mobile projector incorporates Texas Instruments’ DLP IntelliBright technology, which includes new image processing algorithms to maximize image brightness without affecting the projector’s battery power.

Sony Professional says the MP-CD1 Mobile Projector’s design enables the product to minimize heat, while maintaining high levels of brightness. The company specifies the projector produces brightness levels as high as 105 ANSI lumens.

Elaborating on the MP-CD1’s battery life, Sony Professional says the mobile projector employs a 5,000mAh built-in battery that enables users to project images for as long as two hours.

This Small Projector Is Pretty Spritely

Sony Professional explains that, because of the MP-CD1’s user-friendly features that includes auto-keystone correction, business users and homeowners can show full screen content without distortion.

The projector’s “dynamic picture mode” is said to enhance still images and videos to their optimal brightness and color saturation levels, and users can set the MP-CD1 projector on a tripod via its tripod socket to increase its ability to integrate into a variety of environments.

According to Sony Professional, the model takes just five seconds to boot up, and its HDMI connection accepts any number of source components, including smart devices, computers, gaming consoles and streaming devices.

To charge the MP-CD1’s built-in battery, users just need to connect the mobile projector to a standard USB-C port. Rated at 5 volts, 3A, the MP-CD1 charges quickly via an AC outlet or powerbank.

Sony Professional adds the mobile projector delivers a resolution of 854 x 480 and a contrast ratio of 400:1.

Moreover, the projector is capable of producing images as large as 120 inches from distances of approximately 11 feet (3.45 meters).
