CI Fantasy Football League: Week 3 Results and In-Depth Analysis

Published: 2018-09-25

Ray Lyons, CI publisher, has an 0-3 record.

Fantasy football isn’t for everybody. It takes a special breed requiring the ability to analyze numbers, negotiate trades and supervise an operation. AV professionals that exemplify those traits are represented well in our coverage of CI Fantasy Football League week 3 results and updated standings.

Unfortunately, Commercial Integrator publisher Ray Lyons and his unfortunately named team, My Team’s Better, stumbled out of the block with an 0-3 start to the 2018 CI Fantasy Football  League.

If anybody has any advice for our fearless leader, please don’t hold back. He needs all the help he can get.

OK, let’s get to it …

Standings of CI Fantasy Football League after Week 2:

CI Fantasy Football: Group 1 (Commissioner Ray Lyons)
Speco Technologies 3-0
Diversified 3-0
Z-Wave 2-1
Waveguide 2-1
Savi Controls 2-1
DigiDaybook 2-1
Canon Projectors 2-1
Vanco 1-2
T1V 1-2
My Team’s Better (CI) 0-3
Digital Projection 0-3
Brand Definition 0-3

Commissioner’s Week 2 Spin: Two unbeaten teams remain, three winless teams remain … I am in the latter, unfortunately. Match-up of the week was between two unbeaten teams, with Speco Technologies taking down Canon Projectors 150-121. The pillow fight of the week was won by Waveguide, 109-100 over Digital Projection … but a win is a win. Other winners included T1V (130 pts), Diversified (128 pts), Savi Controls (127 pts) and Z-Wave (120 pts).

CI Fantasy Football: Group 2 (Commissioner Shawn Tobin)
Banner Clique (CI) 3-0
La Grange Park Perfect Pixels (NEC) 3-0
Team Mercil (SureCall) 3-0
WC BigTime (D-Tools) 2-1
Tampa Steelers (AVI-SPL) 2-1
Team Wicka (LG) 1-2
Magic Skol Bus (Klipsch) 1-2
Run Like a Gurley (Premier Mounts) 1-2
TecNec Titans (TecNec) 1-2
HDBaseT-Pain (AVI Systems) 1-2
Team Shelby (Viewsonic) 0-3
Team Stang (Windy City Wire) 0-3

Commissioner’s Week 2 Spin: Week 3 was another competitive week with four of the six games being decided by 15 points or less. There’s only a 70-point difference between 1st place and 11th place, so even the teams with a losing record are still in it. After being one of the biggest preseason trash talkers in the league, Team Stang is enjoying his time in the basement after three weeks. He’ll be looking to get his first win against the 1-2 TecNec Titans in Week 4.

CI Fantasy Football: Group 3 (Commissioner Craig MacCormack)
Rolls Royce (Jim Caldwell-Maximus Control) 3-0
Mac Daddies (Craig MacCormack-CI) 3-0
The Lukes O Hazzard (Luke Jordan-EAVI) 2-1
Team Guhl (Jennifer Guhl-ANC) 2-1
A Case of the Mondays (Matt Camps-NETECH Corporation) 2-1
Team Durham (Scott Durham-Yorktel) 1-2
Team Sansivero (Gina Sansivero-FSR) 1-2
Guns N Rosens (James Ballard-Orbis) 1-2
Team Means (Jimmy Means) 0-3
Team Donnelly (Ryan Donnelly-Third Coast Tech) 0-3

Commissioner’s Week 2 Spin: Rolls Royce and Mac Daddies remain undefeated through Week 3, while Team Means and Team Donnelly are still looking to break into the win column. Team Donnelly can’t blame the absence of LeVeon Bell for its 123-58 loss to the 3-0 Mac Daddies, who could have won by even more with three Calvin Ridley TDs on the pine.

CI Fantasy Football: Group 4 (Commissioner Tom LeBlanc)
Skol Vikings (AVI Systems) 3-0
Can You Diggs It (Human Circuit) 3-0
Team LeBlanc (Commercial Integrator 2-1
Team Luisi (Diversified) 2-1
Team Wells (CCS Presentation) 1-2
Team Pearson (CTG) 1-2
Ypsilanti Jesses (Midtown Video) 1-2
Team Ackerman ( Rock-It Audio Video) 1-2
Team Gasparo (Wyrestorm) 1-2
Philly Special (Ovation) 0-3

Commissioner’s Week 2 Spin: Not since Cassius Clay shocked the world have sports fans been so stunned as when Team Ackerman earned its first win to topple Team LeBlanc 100.8 to 97.5, handing me my first loss of the season. League Notes: In a battle of winless teams, 122.4 points weren’t enough for Philly Special to earn its first W, falling to Team Gasparo and its league high 141 points. Can You Diggs It and Skol Vikings remain undefeated.

CI Fantasy Football: Group 5 (Commissioner Chelsea Cafiero)
Nebraska Taco Corp (Schaefers TV) 3-0
2 Gurleys One Cup (Database Works) 3-0
The Evil Empire (Rock Electric) 2-1
Bitter Donkey’s (InfoCor) 2-1
Team HiBoost (HiBoost) 1-2
Smiling Mallards (InFocus Tech) 1-2
Team Schutzer (Opt Online) 1-2
South Central Mud Dogs (Electrosonic) 1-2
Mr. McGibblets (CI) 1-2
Team Wynn (Thomas Communications) 0-3

Commissioner’s Week 2 Spin: Sweet Fantasy team names must either be evidence of mad skills or good luck, because Nebraska Taco Corp and 2 Gurleys One Cup remain undefeated after Week 3. Meanwhile, your commissioner has picked up her first Win against Team Wynn (please, please, hold your applause), a victory that’s been only slightly diminished with the realization that her team now has the same record as the Patriots.
