InfoComm 2016: QSC Unveils New Q-SYS AV-to-USB Bridging Solution

Published: 2016-06-07

QSC, LLC, a manufacturer of digital signal processing, IP conferencing cameras, networked signal transport, audio/video control systems, power amplifiers and loudspeaker products for nearly five decades, is pleased to introduce its AV-to-USB Bridging solution, which includes the Q-SYS I/O-USB Bridge and two PTZ-IP Conferencing cameras—the Q-SYS PTZ-12X72 and Q-SYS PTZ-20X60.

The new Q-SYS PTZ IP Cameras and Q-SYS I/O-USB Bridge will solve the problem of the meeting room geography when integrating soft codec conferencing with camera feeds and audio by introducing IP-based cameras and USB bridge into the Q-SYS platform.

  • Soft codec and BYOD integration – Forget the hassle of downloading drivers and USB extenders. This new AV-to-USB Bridging solution fully integrates with the Q-SYS platform, changing the way integrators integrate soft-codec enabled meeting rooms by leveraging AV/IT streaming technologies to simplify and give back design flexibility.
  • Ease-of-use –The Q-SYS AV–to-USB Bridging solution leverages driverless USB 2.0 for webcam video emulation and AEC speakerphone audio. This means no additional software or drivers are required to make the solution work with modern PC operating systems and soft codec applications such as Skype for Business , ClickMeeting, Adobe Connect, GotoMeeting, WebEx and others.
  • Meeting room geography solved with IP – The Q-SYS AV-to-USB Bridging solution addresses the inherent limitations of using USB in a geographically diverse meeting room. There is no need for expensive and problematic USB extender technology to integrate a PC into the installed room AV System. This provides the ultimate flexibility to add as many bridges and cameras as required for the room usage. The Q-SYS AV-to-USB Bridging solution is the only product on the market that allows for BYOD at the conference room table while also allowing the in-room PC at the rack to bridge without doubling (or more) the hardware solution.
  • Single software and IT-centric platform – Q-SYS is a single software platform and IP-based hardware solution. For the integrator, this means less time training on how to use the platform. For the consultant and end user, it means a holistic approach to solving the challenges of the conference room, rather than trying to integrate two or three different solutions from different manufacturers.

“We are delivering on the firm promise that Q-SYS is a software-based platform, and is much more than a mere standalone audio DSP product,” says TJ Adams, director of product management for Installed Sound. “Integrators will be able to utilize the Q-SYS world-class AEC and cameras directly within the Q-SYS Designer Software to create meeting room AV solutions that truly maximize PC-hosted soft codecs. With these introductions, QSC has positioned Q-SYS and Q-LAN to become the most integrative audio and video platform for corporate AV on the planet.”

This combined solution will seamlessly integrate with all current and future shipping Q-SYS Cores such as the Core 110f and Q-SYS peripherals. This means that existing Q-SYS conference systems can easily add camera video to their arsenal of AEC, third-party integration, control and more.
