Yamaha UC to Deliver Sound Advice at InfoComm 2021

Yamaha’s Holger Stoltze, Ph.D., will join two InfoComm educational sessions to provide insight on beamforming microphone solutions and clear audio conferencing.

Audio and video conferencing solution provider Yamaha Unified Communications will lead educational sessions at InfoComm 2021, Oct. 23-29 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

Holger Stoltze, Ph.D., senior director of technical sales and marketing for Yamaha UC, will help AV professionals better understand beamforming microphone solutions as well as join a panel discussion on how to attain clear audio for conferencing using the latest conferencing technologies at InfoComm 2021.

“Audio quality has never been more relevant than it is today, but as an AV integrator, it can be extremely challenging to understand how the latest solutions work, the differences in technology, and how to select the best solution for the application to ensure clear conversations,” said Stoltze in a statement. “I’m excited to return to InfoComm as a speaker on the heels of releasing our new ADECIA ceiling microphone solution because it exemplifies the technology needed for installers to create the best audio conferencing experience possible while knocking down many of the challenges that can impede their success.”

Stoltze will take the floor during the session “Deciphering the Technology Differences in Beamforming Microphone Solutions” on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. He will highlight why microphone beamforming technology has been on the rise in a lot of products and applications, from the smart home assistant, the conference desktop phone, and the huddle-room video camera to microphone sound bars and ceiling microphone tiles.

This session will explain the science and technology behind beamforming microphones and then discuss the differences in common beamforming solutions. Advantages and disadvantages of the different solutions will also be discussed, helping integrators to make the right decisions on beamforming technology for different applications and environments.

In the audio Conferencing and Collaboration Education track session “Clear Audio for Conferencing” on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m., Stoltze will join moderator Tim Albright, president of AVNation TV and JayJay Kim, solutions architect for Zoom, Communications for a timely discussion on conferencing audio quality.

The panel will discuss how working together, yet apart, has highlighted the critical need for clear audio in conferencing and collaboration. They will explore the state of audio technologies for conferencing, including beamforming microphones, echo cancellation, and more.
