Week 7 marks a critical point in the CI Fantasy Football League season as it’s the official midway point between that first kickoff and the last hopes for a playoff spot.
We still don’t know who’ll hoist the CI Fantasy Football championship trophies or bask in the glory in our five leagues, but we’re starting to get a better idea of who’ll be in the mix when the playoffs begin in early December.
Brand Definition and Windy City wire are still looking to get into the win column for the first time in CI Fantasy Football action, while all five of CI Fantasy Football group leaders are sitting at 6-1 so far. But there’s a long way to go and anything can happen—and it usually does. Stay tuned next week for updates.
Here’s a closer look at the CI Fantasy Football standings through Week 7:
Group 1 Commissioner: Ray Lyons | Wins-Losses |
Diversified | 6-1 |
Speco Technologies | 5-2 |
T1V | 5-2 |
Z-Wave | 5-2 |
Savi Controls | 4-3 |
Vanco | 4-3 |
Waveguide | 4-3 |
Canon Projectors | 3-4 |
My Team’s Better (CI) | 3-4 |
DigiDaybook | 2-5 |
Digital Projection | 1-6 |
Brand Definition | 0-7 |
CI Commissioner Trash Talk: Week 7 is in the books…and my win streak comes to an end at the hands of Z-Wave, 131-110. Once again, Shady McCoy let me down! The most exciting matchup of the week came from our 2 winless teams, who both went into MNF with 1 receiver; Brand Definition had OBJ and Digital Projection had Sterling Shepard & 7.2 pt lead. Both receivers had great nights, but in the end Digital Projection holds on for a 117.8 – 116.6 victory….leaving Brand Definition as the only winless team. A special shout out from T1V to Savi Controls…”thanks for not updating your line up”, as Savi Controls left 2 positions open. Other victors included another dominant performance from Diversified (162 pts), Speco Technologies (128 pts) and Vanco (120 pts). We’re on to week 8!
Group 2 Commissioner: Shawn Tobin | Wins-Losses |
Winning as a Service | 6-1 |
Banner Clique (CI) | 5-2 |
La Grange Park Perfect Pixels (NEC) | 5-2 |
Team Mercil (SureCall) | 5-2 |
Magic Skol Bus (Klipsch) | 5-2 |
HDBaseT-Pain (AVI Systems) | 4-3 |
TecNec Titans (TecNec) | 3-4 |
WC BigTime (D-Tools) | 3-4 |
Run Like A Gurley | 2-5 |
Team Wicka (LG) | 2-5 |
Team Shelby (Viewsonic) | 2-5 |
Ugh Can’t Win (Windy City Wire) | 0-7 |
CI Commissioner Trash Talk: Winning as a Service edged out Team Wicka to improve his record to a league-leading 6-1. In the highest scoring game of the week, HDBaseT-Pain clipped the TecNec Titans by a score of 133.5-128.7 to improve to 4-3. At the midpoint way in the season, all playoff spots are still up for grabs in this league.
Group 3 Commissioner: Craig MacCormack | Wins-Losses |
A Case of the Mondays (Matt Camps-NETECH Corporation) | 6-1 |
Rolls Royce (Jim Caldwell-Maximus Control) | 5-2 |
Mac Daddies (Craig MacCormack-CI) | 5-2 |
Team Guhl (Jennifer Guhl-ANC) | 5-2 |
Team Sansivero (Gina Sansivero-AtlasIED) | 5-2 |
The Lukes O Hazzard (Luke Jordan-EAVI) | 3-4 |
Team Durham (Scott Durham-Yorktel) | 2-5 |
Guns N Rosens (James Ballard-Orbis) | 2-5 |
Team Means (Jimmy Means) | 1-6 |
Team Donnelly (Ryan Donnelly-Third Coast Tech) | 1-6 |
CI Commisioner Trash Talk: We’re starting to see some separation between the contenders and the pretenders as the top 5 teams in Group 3 all won in Week 7 and the bottom five teams all moved closer to being on the clock for next year’s #1 draft pick. This was a week of blowouts, with the closest game seeing Team Sansivero “squeak” by Team Means, 91-72. A Case of the Mondays continued its dominant run with a 125-54 throttling of Team Durham. The Mac Daddies leapfrogged Team Guhl in the overall standings based on season-long point totals but it was otherwise status quo from top to bottom.
Group 4 Commissioner: Tom LeBlanc | Wins-Losses |
Skol Vikings (AVI Systems) | 6 – 1 |
Can You Diggs It (Human Circuit) | 5 – 2 |
Team Pearson (CTG) | 4 – 3 |
Team Luisi (Diversified) | 4 – 3 |
Team LeBlanc (Commercial Integrator | 4 – 3 |
Team Wells (CCS Presentation) | 3 – 4 |
Team Ackerman ( Rock-It Audio Video) | 3 – 4 |
Philly Special (Ovation) | 2 – 5 |
Team Gasparo (Wyrestorm) | 2 – 5 |
Ypsilanti Jesses (Midtown Video) | 2 – 5 |
CI Commisioner Trash Talk: Wait a second. Am I reading this correctly? Can You Diggs It?I managed only 52.1 points in its matchup against Team Ackerman. Despite the positive vibes generated by the new Can You Diggs It?I logo (a headshot of yours truly), it fell victim to an insurmountable 72 points by Team Ackerman. As a result, Skol Vikings, which continues to roll, sits alone at the top of the standings.
Group 5 Commissioner: Chelsea Cafiero | Wins-Losses |
2 Gurleys One Cup (Database Works) | 6-1 |
The Evil Empire (Rock Electric) | 5-2 |
Team Schutzer (Opt Online) | 5-2 |
Nebraska Taco Corp (Schaefers TV) | 4-3 |
Bitter Donkey’s (InfoCor) | 3-4 |
Smiling Mallards (InFocus Tech) | 3-4 |
South Central Mud Dogs (Electrosonic) | 3-4 |
Team HiBoost (HiBoost) | 2-5 |
Mr. McGibblets (CI) | 2-5 |
Team Wynn (Thomas Communications) | 2-5 |
CI Commissioner Trash Talk: Gurley takes the lead in Week 7, dominating (this time over Team HiBoost) as they’ve done every week with the exception of just one. Evil Empire and Shutzer also pull ahead at 5-2 each, the latter of which came in only 7 points ahead of your commish, who is going through the 5 Stages of Having Drafted David Johnson – denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. The real question more halfway through the season is, can ANYONE take down Gurley?!
