Key Digital recently expanded its hardware and software ecosystem for bars and restaurant AV with the additions of KD-IP1080TX and KD-IP1080RX, an HDMI over IP encoder and decoder with support for PoE (Power over Ethernet), and KD-MAX8x8, an eight-input-to-eight-output audio matrix switcher with built-in audio DSP featuring analog and digital connections per input and output.
When it comes to viewing displays, restaurants and sports bars require the highest flexibility and a user-friendly control for the entire staff. Key Digital’s IP transmitter and receiver were designed to build an entire video infrastructure using Managed Network, according to the company press release.
With PoE, power can be carried to Tx and Rx units with a Power Over Ethernet-enabled Network Switch, thus ensuring ease of integration that integrators expect from Key Digital products.
From the coziest restaurant to the largest sports bar, Key Digital’s KD-IP1080TX and KD-IP1080RX “meet the demands of venues while setting the tone for each property,” according to the company press release.

Using these devices within the Key Digital ecosystem enables up to 1024 transmitters to be connected with unlimited receivers operating on the same network, which also enables a great degree of scalability, depending on the size of the system requirements.
KD-MAX8x8 features analog and digital connections per input and output. This matrix switcher enables analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog conversion of signals, or it can operate as two independent audio matrixes (one digital and one analog).
Each output of KD-MAX8x8 handles all pre-amp functionality, enabling integrators to connect directly into simple amplifiers. Any of the connected audio sources may be selected on any output and apply variable signal processing levels for volume, bass, mid, treble, balance and lip sync.
Key Digital Compass Control Pro is a fully integrated control system built to use iOS devices to replace traditional control interfaces. The software suite excels in video control functionality, a key element in the proliferation of digital signage and video collaboration.
Compass Control Pro also instantly integrates components from Compass Alliance partners to create a plug-and-play system.
As an additional control option, Key Digital Management Software Pro (KDMS Pro) enables PC-based controlling of video routing and video wall layouts.
It’s designed for professional AV integrators and Key Digital authorized resellers to configure units, load the latest firmware, set EDID control handshakes, and provide input and output friendly names to be displayed on the Key Digital App and KDMS software for users.
KDMS Pro provides a pre-built control GUI for compatible Key Digital systems to manage video and audio routing, volume levels, video walls, and more for enterprise AV over IP, HDMI and HDBaseT matrix switchers, audio matrix switchers, presentation switchers, video wall processors, and multi-viewers.
