Key Digital announces KD-X222 and KD-X222PO, two HDBaseT extenders capable of offering uncompressed content for digital signage.
The extension kits transmit UHD 4K/30 4:4:4 and UHD 4K/60 4:2:0 signals up to 125 feet using Cat 5e/6 UTP/STP cabling. For non-4K applications 1080p/60 signals can be extended up to 230 feet, making these extender sets ideal for digital signage applications where monitors are installed significant distances away from the centralized equipment location, according to the company.

“Key Digital’s powerful product ecosystem is designed around digital signage content from an external video source such as digital signage player or Windows PC or Apple computer, with HDMI output connectivity being fed into a digital video distribution amplifier,” says Jonathon Ferry, national training manager, Key Digital, says in a press release.
“Key Digital’s proprietarily full buffer technology enables multiple distribution amplifiers to be cascaded strategically to support hundreds of displays in digital signage applications such as advertising, retail show rooms, corporate messaging, and transportation.
“From the centralized equipment rack, KD-X222 and KD-X222PO carry 4K and 1080P video and audio to a single display or to a cluster of many displays through integration with additional distribution amplifiers. The resulting system is easy to manage and cost effective.”
