Ben Hitt, director of audio visual integration at Applied Global Technologies (AGT)
Nominated by Melissa Hudson, director of PR and marketing at AGT
Hitt was promoted to his current position this year, following roles as research scientist, lead control sys-tem programmer and senior systems engineer. He expanded his certification portfolio with Crestron DMC-E-4K certification, SMART Technologies certification and Crestron Fusion Programming training.
Devoted to designing collaboration spaces that are fit for the future and easy-to-use, Hitt guided multiple 4K installations for AGT, including a 4K touchscreen environment for an Air Force base, enabling the base to enhance communications and collaboration, such as mission-critical briefings, top-secret communications, and the ability to dynamically review flight plans. In addition, Hitt completed a major expansion project for a global telecommunications company, including the design, integration and management of 200+ AV, video conferencing and mini-meeting rooms.
Taking a customer-centric approach, Hitt continued to identify ways to help end users in 2014 solve problems and achieve goals, according to Hudson, whether it was addressing the analog sunset to implementing room automation processes to conserve energy to increasing room usage by rolling out room scheduling panels.
