Newgentek
You might be familiar with at least one other Tampa, Fla.-based AV integrator, and Newgentek CEO Chon Nguyen isn’t shy about mentioning his fledgling company is “in a market where we’re competing with some very large integrators.”
That said, Nguyen isn’t necessarily concerned about $1.3 billion behemoth AVI-SPL or any of the other largest integrators taking work away from Newgentek as the company continues to build its brand and establish its own growing slice of the market.
“We’ve been successful by establishing strong relationships with like-minded companies that are providing complementary services (furniture, architects, interior designers, etc.) and have quickly built a great reputation,” says Nguyen.
In addition to finding its way onto the 2020 Rising Stars, Newgentek also won an award as the Tampa Bay Chamber Small Business of the Year (startup) and Nguyen was a recent Tampa Bay Business Journal 40 under 40 honoree.
So, while some of the other AV companies that Newgentek counts as neighbors have established themselves in the region and around the world, Nguyen and the Newgentek are looking to set themselves apart in unique ways as they work to continue their early success.
That will come, says Nguyen, through Newgentek’s “hyper–focus on customer relationships and responding to the needs of our customers.”
