CI Fantasy Football League: Week 10 Results and In-Depth Analysis

Published: 2018-11-13

Week 10 of the CI Fantasy Football season is a clear indication we’re heading into the home stretch. There are only a few more chances for pretenders to become contenders before the playoffs kick off in earnest just after Thanksgiving.

That’s probably why we saw so many interesting results on the fake CI gridiron this week.

For those who missed some or all of this week’s results, here’s a look back at the highlights, lowlights and trash talk from across the CI Fantasy Football landscape.

Group 1 Commissioner: Ray Lyons Wins-Losses
Diversified 8-2
T1V 7-3
Z-Wave 7-3
Waveguide 7-3
Savi Controls 6-4
Speco Technologies 5-5
Vanco 5-5
Canon Projectors 4-6
My Team’s Better (CI) 4-6
DigiDaybook 4-6
Digital Projection 2-8
You Need Brand Definition 1-9

CI Commissioner Trash Talk:
With the exception of 1 matchup, week 10 was the week of blowouts! Vanco (198) knocked off Digital Projection (76) by 122 pts and didn’t even start a defense – which could have pushed them over 200 pts. Diversified (165 pts) continued to roll with a 65-pt. victory margin. Other big winners included Waveguide (160 pts), Z-Wave (158 pts) and yours truly (149 pts).

The only close match this week also qualified as our “pillow fight” of the week, with Digidaybook taking down Brand Definition 92-85. With 3 weeks left, it looks like 5 teams going for 4 spots…the rest of us can start thinking about next year’s draft!

Group 2 Commissioner: Shawn Tobin Wins-Losses
Winning as a Service (AVI-SPL) 9-1
Team Mercil (SureCall) 8-2
HDBaseT-Pain (AVI Systems) 7-3
La Grange Park Perfect Pixels (NEC) 6-4
Magic Skol Bus (Klipsch) 6-4
Banner Clique (CI) 5-5
WC BigTime (D-Tools) 5-5
TecNec Titans (TecNec) 4-6
Team Wicka (LG) 4-6
Team Shelby (Viewsonic) 4-6
Run Like A Gurley 2-8
Ugh Can’t Win (Windy City Wire) 0-10

CI Commissioner Trash Talk: Week 10 saw the top four teams all pick up wins to extend their lead. 10 of the 12 teams have a record of 4-6 or better, which should lead to a very tight playoff race over the next few weeks!

Group 3 Commissioner: Craig MacCormack Wins-Losses
Rolls Royce (Jim Caldwell-Maximus Control) 8-2
Team Guhl (Jennifer Guhl-ANC) 8-2
A Case of the Mondays (Matt Camps-NETECH Corporation) 7-3
Mac Daddies (Craig MacCormack-CI) 6-4
Team Sansivero (Gina Sansivero-AtlasIED) 6-4
The Lukes O Hazzard (Luke Jordan-EAVI) 5-5
Team Means (Jimmy Means) 3-7
Team Donnelly (Ryan Donnelly-Third Coast Tech) 3-7
Team Durham (Scott Durham-Yorktel) 2-8
Guns N Rosens (James Ballard-Orbis) 2-8

CI Commisioner Trash Talk: The Lukes O Hazzard moved back to .500 with a lopsided 115-54 win over Team Sansivero, while Mac Daddies fell victim to Team Means in the upset of the week, losing a close matchup by way of two OBJ MNF TDs (and his inexplicable decision to leave Eric Ebron’s 3 TDs on the bench).

Rolls Royce and Team Guhl remain the class of the group, with A Case of the Mondays only a game back.

Group 4 Commissioner: Tom LeBlanc Wins-Losses
Skol Vikings (AVI Systems) 7 – 3
Can You Diggs It (Human Circuit) 7 – 3
Team Luisi (Diversified) 5 – 5
Team Gasparo (Wyrestorm) 5 – 5
Philly Special (Ovation) 5 – 5
Team Ackerman ( Rock-It Audio Video) 5 – 5
Team Pearson (CTG) 4 – 6
Team LeBlanc (Commercial Integrator 4 – 6
Team Wells (CCS Presentation) 4 – 6
Ypsilanti Jesses (Midtown Video) 4 – 6

CI Commisioner Trash Talk: Much like at the end of The Godfather when spiteful Michael Corleone coordinates takedowns of all the enemies who had wronged the family and his father, during week 10 the league administered hits on its adversaries with the top records.

Team Wells snuck up on Skol Vikings with a 110.7 to 108.4 win. Philly Special shot Can You Diggs It? right through the glasses with a 150.3 to 120.6 assault. Ypsilanti Jesses even threw in a 172.4 to 136.1 massacre over previously third-place Team Luisi. Revenge was a dish best served cold.

Group 5 Commissioner: Chelsea Cafiero Wins-Losses
Team Schutzer (Opt Online) 8-2
Nebraska Taco Corp (Schaefers TV) 8-2
2 Gurleys One Cup 7-3
The Evil Empire (Rock Electric) 6-4
Smiling Mallards (InFocus Tech) 5-5
Bitter Donkey’s (InfoCor) 5-5
South Central Mud Dogs (Electrosonic) 4-6
Mr. McGibblets (CI) 4-6
Team HiBoost (HiBoost) 2-8
Team Wynn (Thomas Communications) 2-8

CI Commissioner Trash Talk: The tide is turning for the Gurleys as Team Schutzer and Taco Corp pull ahead into a tie for the lead. HiBoost and Wynn sit on the bottom at 2-8, does it seem like these two have given up?

Meanwhile Mr. McGibblets had the highest score in the league this week, so it looks like your commish is coming in hot in the second half of the season. Best part of the week… David Johnson was finally worth a first-round pick with 98 yards, 2 TDs and 30.3 points. FINALLY.

One more thing before we go: I’m throwing a flag on my boss, Tom LeBlanc, for neglecting to use the “nine times” clip from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” in last week’s recap. It’s a classic scene from a classic movie. Here it is for those who can’t get enough of it.

I chose the Olympic gymnastics history over Bo Derek’s romp on the beach for this week’s video because we are still a family operation. I’m guessing you probably know which direction I’ll be going for CI Fantasy Football Week 11. Or do you? Stranger things have happened.
