Gefen HDMI Extender Sends Content Over IP

Recently recognized as one of the top products at the 2014 InfoComm Show in Las Vegas, Gefen has announced its HD KVM over IP signal transmission solution.

The Skinny: The Chatsworth, Calif.-based manufacturer says the transmitter/receiver combination offers dealers a host of options to support their ability to create virtual matrix switching systems.

The Specs: Gefen explains the HD KVM over IP transmits a variety of video formats up to 1080p over a LAN, and it provides provisions to enable electronics professionals to assemble virtual cross-point matrix systems.

The transmitter/receiver combination allows for the remote control of computers from any workstation on a LAN when using gigabit switches. Users can access content using their keyboards, video displays and mouses (KVM), and the system supports as many as four USB peripherals, bi-directional audio, RS-232 and IR control signals.

The transmitter/receiver products can transmit data as far as 100 meters, and it is capable of supporting additional transmitters/receivers on the same local area network (LAN).

Solutions: Gefen adds that the HD KVM over IP can help businesses improve their performance by increasing their remote control options, and it can do this while streamlining the amount of equipment they use in their office.
