Haivision says the KB Max is a “high-quality, small-form factor portable media encoder that is capable of handling 4K, UltraHD, 360-degree virtual reality and HD Internet streaming content.”
“The KB Max is the most powerful encoding platform for live event streaming,” states Peter Maag, chief marketing officer, Haivision.
“The revolutionary form factor leverages software- and hardware-based encoding to achieve the optimal balance of processing power for the toughest streaming events.”
Explaining some of the KB Max’s features, Haivision says the encoder delivers hardware-accelerated encoding to support 4K UltraHD up to 2160 H.264/HEVC.
Haivision also says the product is “ideal for 360-degree virtual reality streaming for on-the-go live events and non-permanent installations.”
According to the company, the KB Max reduces the need for cloud transcoding by encoding full adaptive bitrate cascades in HEVC or H.264. It can also send single bitrate streams up to 4K UltraHD to all of today’s popular platforms for cloud transcoding and delivery.
Haivision KB Max Video Encoder Joins KB Media Encoder Family
The announcement of the KB max portable video encoder augments the company’s KB Series of H.264 and HEVC Internet Media/Transcoders.
