InFocus Continues Growth with Acquisition of Vidco

Published: February 4, 2016

InFocus continued a busy stretch with the acquisition of VIDCO, a Frankfurt, Germany-based systems provider of multimedia room and building solutions. The deal follows InFocus‘ recent acquisitions of Avistar and Jupiter Systems and serves as “the latest InFocus investment as it expands to serve its global customers as well as its geographic presence worldwide,” according to the company announcement.

The acquisition provides new resources for InFocus, its EMEA channel partners and its end users and will part of InFocus’ plans to open an EMEA Executive Briefing Center and Training Academy in Frankfurt in March.

InFocus channel partners “will gain a state-of-the-art facility to preview and bring customers to see InFocus’ integrated solutions-from projectors, to touch-enabled displays and videophones, to the latest in video conferencing and collaboration products,” according to the company announcement. InFocus will launch a regular schedule of sales and technical training classes for its partners.

Other resources added through the VIDCO acquisition “will allow InFocus to offer a range of professional services to its channel partners, augmenting their own expertise with room design, network design, installation and other services in support of complex deployments across a range of industries,” according to the announcement.

VIDCO has been providing counseling, customized planning and installations using the latest high-performance components, including professional services and support for customers in Germany and all over Europe for more than 30 years. After the acquisition, VIDCO will continue to provide sales and support, working closely with other InFocus partners in Europe.

Inside InFocus’ Stream of Acquisitions

“Our end-to-end product line is unmatched in the industry,” said InFocus CEO Mark Housley in the press release. “This acquisition enhances our ability to localize and customize service for the European market, which is of paramount importance to our growth strategy. Expanding our offering to include custom consultation, installation and service regionally, is further evidence that we will be without peer as we transform the way people present, visualize and collaborate with each other.”

Mark Harris of InFocus’ EMEA sales department agreed.

“We are very pleased to be offering channel partners throughout the region custom support and a unique demonstration facility -particularly as new products are introduced and as demand to be able to show how they integrate grows,” he said in the announcement. “We believe access to hands-on demonstrations of the powerful, integrated breadth of InFocus products in a purpose-built facility along with on-demand access to specialized professional services will dramatically impact our ability to grow and service the EMEA market.”
