As the global standard for plug-and-play connectivity, NDI is making significant strides as it heads into 2025. With a focus on innovation and growth, NDI has announced several key milestones, including the establishment of a new innovation hub, strategic leadership appointments and expanded partnerships, all of which reinforce its commitment to advancing solutions in the Broadcast and ProAV industries.

NDI 2024 Milestones

New Innovation Hub in Lisbon

One of the most notable developments is the opening of NDI’s new innovation hub in Lisbon, Portugal. This expansion marks a critical step in NDI’s strategy to bolster its international presence, complementing its existing hub in San Antonio, Texas.

By choosing Lisbon, a city renowned for its tech scene, NDI says it is poised to drive connectivity solutions for content creators around the globe. The Lisbon hub will be instrumental in scaling operations and fostering innovation, with plans to increase the local workforce in software development, customer support and marketing over the next few years, says the company.

This strategic move is expected to enhance NDI’s ability to meet the growing demands of its expanding global market, which already spans 40 countries, including North America and Sweden.

Industry Vet Joins the Team

Highlighting NDI’s commitment to leadership excellence, the company has appointed industry veteran Don Shaver as business development director. With over 28 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and 13 years in Broadcast and ProAV, Shaver brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.

Shaver formerly was the vice president of video product lines at Semtech Corporation, where he led a cross-functional team to significant revenue growth and expanded the company’s ProAV business. NDI says his proven track record and industry insights are set to guide the company as it continues its mission of global expansion, ensuring that NDI’s solutions align with evolving industry needs.

“NDI’s growth is fueled by a clear vision and relentless focus on innovation,” says Shaver. He adds, “As we expand globally, we’re not just increasing our footprint — we’re doing so with intention, ensuring that our cutting-edge solutions meet the evolving needs of the Broadcast and ProAV industries. This user-centric approach will continue to power our growth in the coming years.”

Network Growth Through Strategic Partnerships

NDI’s momentum in 2024 has been significantly boosted by strategic partnerships and an expanded ecosystem of NDI-enabled products, with thousands of NDI nodes currently in circulation.

Looking ahead to 2025, NDI projects a 50% increase in new units shipped compared to 2024.

This growth is largely driven by key collaborations, including:

  • AVer Collaboration: NDI has become a standard across all AVer ProAV cameras, enhancing professional-grade functionality for content production.
  • Panasonic Expansion: Panasonic is extending NDI support to its 4K Integrated Cameras, simplifying video production workflows worldwide.

As the NDI continues to expand its global footprint, the company says it is positioned to set new industry standards in 2025 and beyond, with upcoming developments promising to further elevate its leadership in the broadcast and ProAV market.
