Vizrt Unites Portfolio, Tightly Integrating with NewTek

Published: September 4, 2023

Vizrt is forming what it calls the most comprehensive single-vendor product portfolio in content creation by making a major move: It is uniting with NewTek. Vizrt is, of course, a leading provider of real-time graphics and live production solutions for content creators.

Since Vizrt acquired NewTek in 2019, the organizations have focused on their respective broadcast and commercial AV markets. Largely, they have operated separately under the umbrella of Vizrt Group. However, according to Vizrt, the markets of broadcast and commercial AV are converging. Moreover, customer and end user needs are changing.

Michael Hallén, CEO of Vizrt, says, “From transitioning to IP-based infrastructure, monetization, capturing audience attention, remotely producing content, driving remote collaboration, moving to the cloud, focusing on sustainability, security and the skill gap — we found our customers across both sides of the portfolio are evolving, and often need to do more with less.” He continues, “Now, Vizrt is a one-stop shop to support it all.”

Vizrt and NewTek Working to Unify

To best service customers, who have become increasingly intertwined in the last few years, Vizrt and NewTek have been working hard to unify and grow their customer service, support, university, research and development, and product teams.

“After years of investment, we have expanded our customer success function, which includes service and support, to be a 150-person strong, critical branch of our organization,” Hallén explains. “Our research-and-development teams, spanning six global hubs, have over 250 engineers, and our product team has developed and released more than 20 innovations in the past year, with many more in the pipeline.”

As a result of the last few years of investment, as well as to continue delivering innovative and user-centric software solutions to meet evolving customer and end-user needs, Vizrt and NewTek are joining forces to become Vizrt.

Leveraging the unified ecosystem of products, partners gain access to the entire portfolio. This, of course, will support them in offering new solutions and growing their businesses. Partners can certify as experts through Vizrt’s learning platform, Viz University, with new courses on studio, graphics, automation, live production, cloud and more.

Vizrt Will Extend Product Portfolio

To better meet end-user and customer needs, Vizrt, united with NewTek, will extend its product portfolio and launch a new entry-level video-production system for streamers and content creators, as well as new cloud live-production systems.

For Vizrt, the ambition is to support anyone creating content with the best storytelling solutions and a scalable portfolio of products. From the company’s point of view, the content creator could be an individual, an education institution, a corporate enterprise, a world-class broadcaster or anything in between.

As announced earlier this year, NDI will remain a standalone brand. However, it will be supported by Vizrt as a key partner. Vizrt Group will now operate under the Vizrt name. Vizrt is still owned privately by Nordic Capital, and its board and leadership team remain unchanged.
