In an exclusive Commercial Integrator interview, Thomas Tang discusses AV-over-IP and the role that Apantac plays in the category. Tang, who is founder, president and CEO, reflects on the company’s very successful NAB Show. Plus, he discusses IP-centric solutions that he plans to showcase at InfoComm 2025 next month.
Early in the interview, Tang reflects on the NAB Show, mentioning a range of new products that Apantac showcased. Those include its SDM-ST-2110 solution, as well as audio-over-IP and KVM-over-IP. Notably, Apantac earned a “Best in Show” award for the SDM-ST-2110 product.
Apantac to Showcase AV-over-IP Solutions at InfoComm 2025
Next, Tang turns to InfoComm 2025, which Apantac has equally big plans for. “Of course, we have to show IPMX,” he says. “IPMX is the latest buzz.” Accordingly, at its booth, Apantac will demonstrate an SDM running on IPMX. Turning to the topic of audio-over-IP, Tang promises, “We will show even more formats that could be decoded on audio-over-IP into Dante.”
Mentioning another InfoComm 2025 highlight that Apantac is excited about, Tang says, “[We’re going to show] a very interesting digital signage solution using HDBaseT.” With a chuckle, Tang adds, “I’ll leave that as a tease. Please come by our booth and take a look at that. We’re going to show some interesting application on that.”
