Delivering a hybrid event that feels immersive for remote viewers and in-room attendees alike takes more than a videoconferencing link. It takes broadcast-quality production, tight content integration and technology that pulls every participant into the room. That’s the standard Extron set for its training and event demonstration spaces at its global headquarters in Anaheim, California, and the resulting project earned industry recognition for its execution.
What Was the Scope of the Extron Anaheim Project?
Extron partnered with Panasonic in late 2025 to modernize training and event demonstration spaces across its seven-building global headquarters in Anaheim. These rooms host a wide range of programs, from internal sales and technical trainings to multi-day customer summits and technology sessions, all led by Extron’s sales and marketing team. To support that mix of productions, the team installed 13 Panasonic AW-UE150 and AW-UE160 PTZ cameras. From a dedicated control room, a production team member drives the cameras using an Extron touch panel, a Panasonic AW-RP150 Remote Camera Controller and Panasonic’s Media Production Suite.
Why Are PTZ Cameras Central to the Hybrid Experience?
The PTZ cameras sit at the heart of the space because they bridge the gap between in-person and remote audiences with a dynamic, broadcast-quality view of every presentation. Virtual viewers feel connected to the action while in-room attendees benefit from a polished, professional production. Auto-tracking and zoom give presenters the freedom to move naturally through the space without breaking the production. The system follows speakers as they cross the stage, while powerful zoom lets operators adjust framing and capture the ideal shot without disrupting the flow. This flexibility means presenters aren’t tethered to a lectern, and operators aren’t scrambling to keep up. The result is a more natural, engaging production for everyone watching.
How Does Microsoft Teams Fit Into the Workflow?
Microsoft Teams integration lets remote presenters participate alongside in-room speakers as full contributors rather than distant voices. The production team pairs that connection with carefully selected camera angles to build a more immersive, interactive experience. For hybrid programs that draw participants from multiple locations, this integration keeps remote speakers on equal footing with those on stage.
What Role Does the Media Production Suite Play?
Panasonic’s Media Production Suite powers the workflow by providing centralized control, monitoring and management of Extron’s PTZ camera system. Integrated with Extron’s control system, the platform lets operators manage multiple cameras, create and store precision presets and maintain consistent framing across events. That centralization is what turns 13 cameras spread across multiple rooms into a single, manageable production environment rather than a set of isolated systems.
How Does the AW-RP150 Controller Simplify Operation?
The AW-RP150 Remote Camera Controller simplifies operation by combining touchscreen and joystick controls into a unified AV management experience alongside the Media Production Suite. Operators can adjust cameras, save customized PTZ presets and switch between event setups without time-consuming reprogramming.
