VITEC is bringing the Datapath product portfolio under its own name. The move marks the next stage of integration following VITEC’s acquisition of Datapath, a company known for real-time video processing in control rooms and large-scale videowall projects.
Key Things to Know
- Datapath will transition to the VITEC brand in 2027, and VITEC will retire the Datapath corporate name.
- Datapath product names won’t change, and all existing Datapath offices will stay open.
- Customer support continues as part of the wider VITEC organization.
- The combined portfolio spans videowalls, AVoIP, IPTV, KVM, encoding and decoding and control room applications.
- A new VITEC website will launch later this year, and Datapath-branded materials will shift to VITEC gradually into 2027.
What Is VITEC Announcing?
VITEC is consolidating Datapath under a single VITEC brand, which creates one identity across its expanding range of technologies. The Datapath corporate brand will be retired. Its product names, technologies and engineering expertise will continue as part of VITEC.
The company describes the change as the next step in combining the two businesses, not a reset of the Datapath product line.
When Will Datapath Become VITEC?
Datapath will transition to become VITEC in 2027. VITEC plans to launch a new website later this year that brings the Datapath portfolio together with its wider offering.
Datapath-branded product materials will move to the VITEC brand progressively into 2027. The company says the transition will happen sustainably, so integrators should expect to see both names on materials for a period of time.
What Happens to Datapath Product Names and Offices?
All individual product names from the Datapath portfolio remain unchanged. All existing Datapath offices will also stay open, and the Datapath team continues as part of VITEC.
For integrators, that means the product names already written into specs, quotes and bills of materials should still apply. The main visible change is the corporate brand behind them.
Why Is VITEC Making the Change Now?
VITEC says a year of operational integration made this the right time to unify the brands. Throughout 2026, the two companies aligned their operations and systems, building on integration work that started after the acquisition.
“Over the past year, our teams have worked closely to bring our operations together, building on the strengths of both businesses,” says Nicolas Quesne, deputy CEO of VITEC. “We now feel the time is right to take the next step and move forward together under one VITEC brand.”
Quesne points to the engineering backgrounds of both companies as a reason the fit works.
“Both businesses have strong engineering foundations and highly complementary expertise,” Quesne says. “Bringing these strengths together creates a broader, more connected portfolio of solutions and services, supported by VITEC’s global presence and customer support capabilities.”
What Does the Combined Portfolio Include?
The combined hardware and software portfolio covers a wide range of visual information needs across professional AV and mission-critical environments. It includes:
- Video processing
- Videowalls
- AV-over-IP (AVoIP)
- IPTV distribution
- Encoding and decoding
- KVM
- Control room applications
That breadth lets VITEC address more project types from one supplier, from corporate and commercial spaces to creative environments and operations centers.
What Is Datapath Known For?
Datapath is known for real-time video processing for large-scale video walls, AVoIP content distribution and KVM control. The company was founded in 1982 and has built its reputation in mission-critical control rooms, commercial applications and creative environments.
VITEC says that expertise will continue under its brand.
What Does Datapath Leadership Say About the Transition?
Datapath leadership says customer relationships remain a priority as the brand changes. David Griffiths, vice president of global sales at Datapath, points to the company’s long history with its customers.
“Datapath has been built on the talent and commitment of our people for more than four decades, alongside the strong, long-standing relationships we have developed with our customers,” Griffiths says. “Those trusted relationships remain enormously important as we move forward as VITEC, and we remain committed to maintaining the high standards our customers have come to expect.”
He also says the change is a chance to keep developing the product line.
“We now have an exciting opportunity to build on that heritage, continue developing the technologies our customers rely on, and create new opportunities for the future within the wider VITEC organization,” Griffiths says.
What Does This Mean for Existing Customers and Integrators?
Existing customers and integrators should see continuity in products, support and contacts, with the brand name as the main change. Customer support continues as part of the wider organization, and the Datapath team stays in place.
Quesne says customers will gain access to the combined expertise of both companies. “This gives our customers greater access to our combined expertise, with the reassurance of a consistent relationship and support,” he says.
A few practical points stand out for integrators:
- Specs and documentation: Product names won’t change, but expect Datapath-branded datasheets and materials to shift to VITEC branding through 2027.
- Vendor records: Firms may need to update supplier names in procurement systems as the transition moves forward.
- Project scope: A broader portfolio from one manufacturer could simplify sourcing for projects that combine video walls, AVoIP and IPTV distribution.
VITEC hasn’t announced changes to pricing, warranties or distribution in connection with the rebrand.
