New Fulcrum Acoustic Subcardioid Subwoofers Combine TQ with LF/HF Control

Published: 2018-03-27

Following the introduction of its CCX1295 products in the summer of 2017, Fulcrum Acoustic now introduces new 12-inch subcardioid coaxial loudspeakers. [related]

The company says latest Subcardioid Coaxial products offer integrators a choice of horn patterns to enable audio coverage in a variety of environments.

The new models include the CCX1265 (60 degrees x 45 degrees), CCX1277 (75 degrees x 75 degrees), the CCX1200 (100 degrees x 100 degrees) and the CCX1226 (120 degrees x 60 degrees).

“Unlike conventional loudspeakers that trade off low frequency (LF) directional control for compact enclosures, our Passive Cardioid Technology enables CCX12 loudspeakers to achieve unprecedented LF/HF control for products of their size,” explains David Gunness, co-founder and vice president of Fulcrum Acoustic.

“Combining the benefits of this technology with Temporal Equalization (TQ) single-amplified CCX12 products deliver impressive LF directional control, improved intelligibility, enhanced sonic accuracy, and the output capability and pattern control of normal premium two-way systems in considerably lighter and more compact enclosures tan those with offset drivers.”

Fulcrum Acoustic Subcardioid Subwoofers Complement Distributed Systems

According to Fulcrum Acoustic, the CCX12 product family marks the first application of its Passive Cardioid Technology in its TQ Install line of installation loudspeakers.

Fulcrum Acoustic points out the CCX12 Subcardioid Subwoofers are particularly effective for high-fidelity foreground distributed audio systems, and systems that require targeted pattern control.

The CCX12 loudspeakers provide 9dB of low-frequency attenuation in the rear hemisphere without the need for additional cancellation drivers, signal processing devices or amplifiers.

In addition, the Fulcrum Acoustic Subcardioid CCX12 products‘ trapezoidal-shaped enclosures enable professional integrators to mount the products close to ceilings without impacting the aesthetics of sight lines to help with the acceptance of the products by interior designers and architects.
