New Key Digital KD-MLV4X2 Capable of Video Walls

Key Digital has introduced its latest problem-solving solution for video walls: the KD-MLV4X2 four input/two output video matrix.

Key Digital says the KD-MLV4X2 four input/two output video matrix provides integrators with a cost effective device that delivers multiviewing and source switching functionality.

“What makes [the] KD-MLV4X2 superior to similar products is performance and quality,” states Jonathon Ferry, national training manager, Key Digital. “We have analyzed the multiviewer products and found the competitors are only giving a static quadrant view. On top of that, the feedback of picture quality when in that quadrant mode has been very negative. Fox came to us and were amazed by how legible the text was when in quadrant mode on [the] KD-MLV4X2. They were impressed with our 1080p output resolution and absolutely floored to see our 4K output.”

The new product allows integrators to create video wall functionality when the 4×2 matrix is used in conjunction with a large display.

In full-screen mode the display will show any of the eight (four HDMI and four VGA) video sources, and in quadrant mode, the KD-MLV4X2 will show four video sources in four equally-sized portions of the screen. Through the multiview mode option, users can choose a primary source on the top, bottom, left or right of the screen, while viewing three additional sources.

Key Digital also points out the KD-MLV4X2 offers seamless source switching and uninterrupted screen transitions during source selections to support conferencing and presentation applications where video sync times with a companion projector may not be properly aligned.

Other features built into the KD-MLV4X2 include control options for IR, RS-232, IP or open API, in addition to the company’s Compass Control Pro platform. Key Digital adds the product joins a growing list of offerings that incorporate IP capabilities that include app control through popular operating systems like Apple’s iOS platform.
