AVIXA this week announced the election results for the 2020 AVIXA Board of Directors and Leadership Search Committee.
AV tech executive Samantha (Sam) Phenix has been elected secretary-treasurer of the board by AVIXA membership. AVIXA members also elected to the Alexis Bryant La Broi, Mid-Atlantic and New England director of sales for VER, and Ian Harris, president and principal consultant at ihD as new members. [related]
The AVIXA Leadership Search Committee (LSC) appointed Kay Sargent, senior principal and director of WorkPlace for HOK, to the board of directors and reappointed Martin Saul, CEO of ICAP Global, to the board.
AVIXA membership elected Cassie Berger, regional sales manager for Shure, to serve as a new member of the Leadership Search Committee.
Joe Pham, president and CEO of QSC and chairman of the AVIXA board of directors also appointed Theresa Hahn, VP of marketing and business development for Verrex, and Mehryn Corrigan, associate director of strategic alliances marketing for Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, as new members of the LSC.
“We are proud to have a diverse and truly global representation of the AV industry on AVIXA’s Board and Leadership Search Committee,” said AVIXA CEO David Labuskes in the association announcement.

Julian Phillips will leave his positions as Leadership Search Committee chairman and former chairman of the AVIXA board when the new term begins at the beginning of next year.
The terms of board members Wallace Johnson of WLJ Consulting and Shaolei Liu of Prime Connections along with LSC members Jeremy Caldera of IAS Technology, Virginia Daugherity of Sonic Foundry, Inc., and Michelle Grabel-Komar of Full Compass Systems will also run out at the end of this year.
