Published: 2020-04-14

AVIXA will launch a virtual three-day event it’s calling InfoComm 2020 Connected June 16-18 to coincide with the dates of the scuttled annual trade show in Las Vegas that was among the many canceled events claimed by the outbreak of the coronavirus across the U.S. and around the world. [related]

AVIXA CEO David Labuskes teased the launch of InfoComm 2020 Connected during his keynote this morning to kick off the AV Nation Learn from Home Virtual Event, but didn’t provide many details about AVIXA’s plans.

The official association announcement of InfoComm 2020 Connected will come tomorrow and is expected to include more details.

Early indications are that InfoComm 2020 will feature opportunities for participants to explore new product information from hundreds of manufacturers, choose live and on-demand presentations on topics of their choice, receive training, hear from industry thought leaders and more.

More About InfoComm 2020 Connected

When AVIXA announced it was canceling InfoComm 2020 late last month because of concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the announcement said the association was working on “new options to bring to life the engaging and educational experiences of the show in a number of different ways.”

There are no details yet about registration costs or dates for InfoComm 2020 Connected.

“Keeping the community safe and healthy is our highest priority,” said Labuskes in AVIXA’s March 30 announcement of InfoComm 2020’s cancelation. “Therefore, we are following the guidelines of public health authorities during the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19.”

InfoComm 2020 was expected to retain its crown as the largest pro AV show in North America. Last year, InfoComm 2019 attracted more than 44,000 people to Orlando, Fla. The 2021 show will be in Orlando from June 12-18.

Enterprise Connect hosted virtual keynotes after the event was postponed from April in Orlando to August in San Francisco and NAB announced this week it will host NAB Show Express in May.
